They don't only provide 'education' in the sense of literacy and numeracy, but also a lot of social interaction and structured playtime - both of which are absolutely essential for a kid's development at that age.

^ This so much! Though I went to montessori school rather than a pre-school. Which is kinda like pre-school but (after some research) I've found that it takes a more hands-on and creative approach. It allows children to pick and choose what they want to learn. Tbh that kind of explains a lot of things in my life lmao, I've been pushed to the creative side from the start.

This shit is pretty lit. I agree very much with this method of teaching and am glad my parents let little me attend one of these.

Studies show them to be pointless, and mothers are better at taking care of children at that age.
