Where they get walked all over for being too nice and not standing up for themselves. And also where most of what they say ends up being little lies in order to please everyone just for the sake of being nice to everyone.

^But is that necessarily a bad thing? Some people have stood up for themselves and gotten into trouble for it. People lie in order to be nice. It's better than being brutally rude and hurting someone's feelings. Hm...

I wouldn't want to hang out with a person who lied to me just to not risk hurting my feelings. I'd also not want to hang out with someone who was brutally honest and put me down everywhere I went. Both are people I have come across. The balance of having a good person around who is kind enough to let you know something that is hard to hear, but is also kind enough to not pick your insecurities to pieces is like...the perfect friend, that is hard to come by.

^It's strange. As a society, we are told to always be nice, but we're also told to tell the truth. If we're "overly" nice, we're shunned for it, and if we tell the truth, we are sometimes shunned for it, as well. I've had plenty of cases where I was trying to be nice and tried to sugarcoat something and when I was told to be honest with them, my friends wouldn't talk to me for days. Seems like you can't win.
And then there's the case of fictional characters, such as Snow White or Flora from WC. I don't see what's so annoying about a character being nice, especially if they're doing something out of the goodness of their hearts. Characters like these are only annoying if they're Mary-Sues or can't do stuff for themselves, which is far from who Snow White or Flora are.

If a person doesn't tell the truth or stand up for him/herself or for others because they don't want to hurt people's feelings or be mean, then I think that's being too nice.

@hatelarxene I know, but like I already said, there is a balance. A person can't be entirely on one side of the spectrum without any conflict at some point. I wouldn't say nice people are annoying by any means, but if that niceness equates to dishonesty then I can't say that I appreciate those people.
It's impossible to please everyone, so just put your efforts into relationships that matter to you. That's what I go by anyway.

I speak from experience when I say yes. I'm think I'm too nice; I'm so quick to forgive people who turn around and stab me in the back again. There was a time when say no. It was really bad, I got walked all over; these dudes asked to borrow my colored pencils, returned them all snapped in half.

^I never thought Flora was annoyingly nice. Doing stuff out of the goodness of your heart isn't annoying at all to me, but I guess to each their own.
