I was told by someone that was a true vegetarian, if the crackers contained beef tallow, milk, etc then they would not eat them, since it is still part of an animal. Though, there are different levels of being a vegetarian - some do drink milk and eat cheese - since the animal is not killed in order to obtain the milk. Animal crackers, although most brands do not contain beef tallow, they do contain milk - therefore they are not eaten by vegetarians that do not eat any part of an animal.
