Kate Middleton’s rumored battle with Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II is still raging on, and the Duchess of Cambridge has been victorious in at least one recent disagreement with the British monarch, according to Life & Style magazine’s Aug. 25 issue.

In the tabloid’s cover feature “Kate & William Tell the Queen: We’re Leaving!” "insiders" reveal that Middleton and her husband, Prince William, both 32, are breaking royal tradition by moving to the country to provide a more private life for their son, Prince George, 13 months. The couple’s “unprecedented” decision to move out of their newly renovated Kensington Palace apartment and into their summer home, Anmer Hall, has allegedly upset the royal family’s 88-year-old matriarch. 

“The queen is furious,” said one “royal insider” of the duke and duchess’ plans to relocate 100 miles from London to Norfolk, where Prince William will work as a helicopter pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance starting this fall. “It’s a huge slap in the face for her. Kate [and] William are sending the message that they refuse to be forced by the queen to do anything.” 

Despite the queen’s upset, the couple is reportedly thrilled about their plans to move into the 10-bedroom abode. “The move can’t come soon enough for Kate,” said an insider who compared Middleton’s current living conditions in London to a “war zone," saying, “She feels utterly trapped in London and living in Kensington Palace.”

Not only are William and Kate reportedly excited about living in a more rural atmosphere, insiders say Prince George is also expected to enjoy the freedoms that will come with his new home. “Kate has lots of friends with kids who live in Norfolk, and she is already planning a very full social life for her and William and George,” said a source. “George won’t have a shortage of playmates, unlike in London, where he doesn’t have much freedom.”
