At some level, yes. Though teaching Freud's theories to high-schoolers.. well.. I don't envy the teacher :-P

Introductory should be an option to 11th & 12th year students. It was when I was in high school way back in the 70s....

at our school we had the possibility to learn something.
but it really depends on he teacher and most aren´t able to make it at least some kind of interesring

We had intro to psychology in my school. For one year. And none of our teachers were qualified to teach it so it wasn't the most fascinating subject since they couldn't answer any specific questions on it.

Yeah im studying psychology this year (yr 10) and i'll be doing it until i graduate. it's an interesting subject~

we have an introductory course at our school for it. Its psychology/sociology though. I'm taking it next year. I'm pretty excited!

I don't really consider it as my career, but more like a prt-timer job or just wanna study it at high school.

In my school we have diffrent programmes and the programme I'm in must study psychology. The other programmes can choose it as their individual choice.

I took it my junior year and it was so interesting I want to learn more so I want to be a psychologist!

It should be taught in school (maybe 7th grade and up)It would be fun and a great intellectual bennefit .But unfortunatly, that would be made impossible by idle stupidity of students and the indifferent negligence of teachers (any student should be aware of these things)

I think you can take it for A levels at my school attcually. But i think we should be introduced to pschology at a much younger age

I took it my senior year in high school. It was one semester and Sociology was the second semester.

I think it should be, because then kids wouldnt be so cruel to those who have a mental illness. There is such a stigmatization about mental illness. When you say oh I have a mental illness people think of " One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest" like your some psycho that is dumb, when really you just have a problem that you dont know how to fix and you need extra therapy and help. And when People say Shrinks, they are like " OMG you need a shrink? thats horrible!" More people should get help without feeling ashamed, less suicides would happen.

I study Sociologies, Economies, Philosophy, Civilization, But not Psychology

Ok, I had it as a some sort of course in my school, but now, after participating in it for like 5 months, I fuckin' noticed that the teacher is a total wannabe. I agree with ecpjll, if you're gonna get a dumbass teacher, better quit...Btw, I quited xD

I'm currently a junior in high school taking AP psychology,although here it's considered more of a social studies course than an elective.
It's an intriguing class,partly because the teacher is phenomenal!
