I tend to separate my favorites she's my favorite professor, Molly Wesley is my favorite adult that isn't a professor, Ron's my favorite kid, and Bellatrix is my favorite Death Eater. Hagrid is probably my 2nd favorite Professor.

hey, I also like Bellatrix and McGonagall best but I thought no one else does....as they are quite contrary

ya...that's why i had this fantasy about a duel between the two...you know, the two second-in-commands,both very powerful....sad it didn't happen :p

It would have been perfect if Minerva had been the one to kill Bellatrix!!

There are both fascinating characters and on the first impression quite contrary but if you take a closer look you'll also find many similarities....the whole right-hand-woman-thing, the loyalty, the skill, the fury

that's what i felt too....but jkr put the two of them in just one single sentence after Haryy's "dead body" was shown to Hogwarts-

"He heard another woman laughing nearby, and knew that Bellatrix gloried in McGonagall's despair"

Bellatrix is my favourite character, Minerva my second. It's very close though.
