As I head out from Professor Juniper's Pokemon Research Lab, I hear my name being called from the other side. "Huh?" I go back inside of the huge building. "Yes Professor?" I ask. "I forgot to give you this!" The brown-haired Professor hands me a watch-like object that I've never seen before. Maybe I've heard of these things... "What is it?" "This, is in a Xtransceiver. (Crosstransceiver)" Oh! That's it! "Aren't these things used for communicating?" "Precisely. I gave Hunter one as well. Please use it." Cool! And it's Black! One of my favorite colors! My pokedex's color is black and white. "Thanks Professor Juniper! I can't wait to start my journey today! How far is Accumula Town from here?" Professor Juniper sets her hand under her chin. "Hmmm..." she mumbles. "About three miles from here. I hope you catch a Pokemon soon!" Man, the professor is really nice! "I do too!"

"Snivy! Sniv!" My brand new Snivy is in the position of a scarf. "I know, it's been a while and we're still pretty far." I say to my Grass Snake. With my long black hair swaying in the slight breeze of this steep hill, I feel like a real trainer. But of course, my dream is to become a top-notch coordinator. "Snivy, you're going to be a beautiful contest Pokemon. I swear that when we enter the first contest in Accumula Town, I will use you for the appeal round." I vow to my Snivy. "Vy!" She cries with joy. "Look! Down there! Is that...? It is! Accumula Town!" There it is. Gorgeous Accumula Town. That's where my first contest is going to be! I'm so excited already! Beep! Beep! Beep! "Hm?" Oh! My Xtransceiver is ringing! I press a green button on the right side of the watch-phone. "Hello?" I ask it. "Good afternoon Victoria!" It's my mom! "Mom! It's great to see you! How's it going at home?" "Great! A little lonely without you." Oh mom. She's a single mom and raising one child at home. Alone. I feel her pain. "Don't worry mom. You'll be okay." Snivy pops out from behind my neck. "Snivy!" she cries. "My, my, my! Is that your new starter Pokemon!" Correct! "Yup! Isn't she pretty! She's a Snivy!" On the tiny screen, my mom frowns. "What's wrong?" She then smiles. "Nothing! I'm just so glad my fourteen-year-old daughter is finally a trainer!" Did I mention I'm a coordinator? Yes I did. "Mom, I'm a coordinator now. The first contest will take place in Accumula Town. I'm almost there. All I need to do is-" I bump into someone. "OH!" My body falls to the ground. "Ouch..." "Are you alright, sweetie?" "Yeah. I just ran into someone." It looks like I have just arrived in Accumula Town! I jump for joy! "Mom! Mom! Mom! I'm here! First contest here I come!" My mom clears her throat. "Ahem." Hm? I look back at the Xtransceiver. "Victoria, remember that you need to pick your contest dress up at the Pokemon Center. I just sent it over there and they should have it by now." "Okay! I can't wait!
