Are you a fan of Pokémon Conquest? If so can you help me with this?

I am working on a Fanfic about a group of 3-4 warriors but I can't decide on Pokémon to give to the female member(s).

The Hero will have a Charmander and the "Rival" will have a Scyther but choosing Pokémon for the girl(s) is much thoughter because I don't want to just give them a cute one like Jigglypuff of Cleafairy -_-

So any suggestion would be very helpful.
