I need help defeating Gardenia in Platinum! Please help me!

Prinplup is water but can be useful with potions and the move peck. Starly being flying has the best advantage, I really think you should NOT use Shellos being both ground and water.A powerful move like take down with potions might help with Shieldon. Bidoof can be change(you have 3 waters types!). Shinx can use bite and swagger to helps too.

First of all: you shouldn't use water, electric, grass, ground, or rock types aganist Gardenia. My suggestion is: use a Ponyta, you can catch one on route 207, right above Orgbergh City, in the tall grass. For her Roserade, you can use a psychic type move, which is super effective, because, it's a Grass/Poison Dual Type. Also, evolve your Starly, they evolve at lv. 18. Well evoluve Prinplup at lev.36 and make it learn hydro cannon=150 damegage,make sheldon evalvalve at lev.30 fail to do so and your lose,make starly learn brave bird or wait till it turnes into a starptor and make it learn it he can learn it at lev.49,do what ever you want to do with shinx,make bidoof evalve and make it learn superpower attack at lev.48 evalve at lev.15,and try to make shellos learn fissure no lev and fissure is a 1 hit ko move and thats it!

What bensam911 said really. Just train your starly up untill it evolves into staravia, and buy plenty of potions etc. lol

well does ur prinplup knoe the move drill peck or peck?/ cuz that can help out alot

1:Evolve Starly
2.Get rid of bidoof
3.Get a better pokemon team
4.If you can't beat her,than you suck

The way I beat her is that I stored my weakest pokemon in the pokemon center(ORANGE) and got a ponyta(you can catch one on route 207, right above Orgbergh City, in the tall grass). then I battled wild magikarps(fishing) that don't do anything when you attack them, and grew levels( level 15 is good) and once you beat 1 of gardenia's pokemon, you can grow in levels! So a lvl 16 ponyta is good. When Ponyta faints, then use ur priplup or your strongest pokemon( my priplup was lvl 29 at that time) and battle away! Hope this helps someone!

I had the same starter pokemon, and lost there 12 times. Evolve Starly into Staravia. This should happen at about level 15-19

you team is quite week so u better start a new game or lvl up ur prinplp

You need to do so -
1.Evolve your prinplup into empoleon.
2.You can't do anything with shieldon so just level it up (don't evolve it )
3.Evolve your starly into staravia and teach it many flying type moves
4.Get rid of shinx,bidoof and shellos and catch a fire/ice/flying type pokemon.
