well i have to say im quite surpirised. i thought id be one of the only people who doesnt think its worth it

i prefer ps3 over both the Wii and 360 because its predecessor, the ps2, was and still is very sucessful not to mention the vast array of quality games. to me it is like the fusion of the wii and 360: quality gameplay with awesome graphics, respectively

My cousin has a PS3 and I've played. IT'S FRICKIN' GREAT! I've only played one game on it (Resistance) but I'm pretty sure the other games are going to be great...like timesplitters 4! That's coming out soon...ish.

It is worth buying, but not compared to the Wii.

But I'll add this: Waiting for it to come down a bit more in price. It's, like, 2 or 3 car payments put together right now!

It's even more worth to buy it if Blu-ray wins the stupid format war that's going on right now. The PS3 has the best graphics out of all 3 systems. The good games...we will just have to wait a little longer but I'm sure they will come out eventually and plus it's a very cheap Blu-ray player.

i want to play final fantasy xiii, final fantasy versus xiii, white knight story, the last remnant.. so i have to buy it, slim version will be cheaper though...

None of the games appeal to me right now. When they come out with an exclusive, not even available on the PS2, then fine, or even if there's a game that just CAN'T be played on anything else BUT a PS3 again, fine. But right now, there's NOTHING for a sports fan like me that can be played on a PS2.

p.s. To buy a game based on graphics is plain NUTS!, I play to be entertained by gameplay, not frilly lights and shades... PFFT!

Well, NOW it is. Back then, I when I got my Wii I wasn't interested in ever buying a PS3. But when I realized how much better it was doing over the past 2 years I decided to go ahead and get one. I can't play it until Christmas, but the wait will be VERY worth while.

It's not necessary to buy it, but yeah maybe a little later in case Blu-ray discs come out more than DVDs...

Noo.. I didn't really want one, daddy wanted one so he bought it mostly for him.
And it's too big and heavy, it's a bit difficult to bring it with you on vacations and stuff. Then it's better with the small version of PS2.

I got the 60gb and the 80gb both play ps2 games. worth every penny stop being cheap ps3 is worth thousands.

I know people have their own opinions, but most people who don't like the PS3 just don't know how to work it well or thought it was bad before it had LBP, Uncharted, Warhawk, or anything like that.

I dunno if I'd recommend it to a friend or family member. If you want to the system to play both ps1 and ps2, you have to pay a pretty penny. If they made all versions of the ps3 to play ps2 games also, then I'd vote yes and recommend the system to others.

There are a bunch of good PS3 games, and the older consoles are compatible with PS2 and PS games too. Seriously, everybody in my family has their own PS3, which sounds like total overkill (I know!) but it's true. Just can't get enough!
