From that scary news of realizing my best friends plus my hot girlfriend were missing, I had to leave Camp Half Blood right away. Chiron gave us every detail of the attack.
"I'm guessing that Annabeth was kidnapped from the hydra as well. Tyson said A big snake attacked the McDonalds Annabeth was at." I said as i twiddled with my thumbs at the big house. In front of me at the table was a steaming hot cup tea dyed blue. (Chiron knew it was my favorite.)
Chiron nodded and returned to searching around his gigantic map of the world. On it were more than just the normal mortal cities and countries. Marked everywhere on the map were red dots and usually written next to them in red pen were things like 'Medusa's lair' or ' the cyclop forges.' I remember going to both those places as a little boy.
Then I noticed one mark in the corner of the united states in Maine marked 'hydra's cave'.
"Chiron look!!" I said suddenly. I pointed to the mark. "We could go there. I'm guessing thats where he would hide them."
"Of course! Why didn't I think of that!" Chiron said slapping his forehead. "But wait! We can't go there. The Hydra would suspect us to go to his lair. And why would he capture them?"
"I don't know. But how can we figure out where the hydra is hiding?" I asked droping my hopes. For a few minutes all was qiuet.
"WAIT!!" Screamed Chiron suddenly. " Remember the strange girl who could shape shift that camp to camp last year?" Chiron asked.
"Oh yeah!! I remember Addison. She had a thing for Nico didn't she?"I said. (from my Addison Zander chapters in the percy jackson club!!)
"YES! She's still here. You should go see her. Remember the necklace she got from Iris? The one that transports you anywhere?"
"Oh my gosh yes!! She can find where the hydra's hiding!" I immediately leaped with joy. "OK! where is she?"
"Probably down dueling some kid. She might be a little sad though. Ever since Nico left camp for college she's been heartbroken." Chiron answered as he went off to help some satyrs.
See, Addison is a daughter of Iris. Unlike most Iris kids, Addison is the only one who inherited Iris's power to shape shift. Last year she helped on an important quest to save a little girl named Jesselyn. (I'm not gonna tell you what happened to Jesselyn cuz I haven't actually finished my other story! sorry to the other people who haven't read my other addison Zander articles.)
After a few minutes of hiking down the trail to the battle fields I saw her. She was fighting Conner stoll, a tricky opponent. His brother Travis sat on a bench next to him yelling his head off for Conner.
I smiled at the old friends I missed so much. Addison's shoulder length sandy blond hair was now and long as her waist. It was pulled down, long and wavy. She had grown much more taller and strong since I last saw her. I couldn't help but actually think....... she was pretty. As soon as I thought that I shook it out of my head. She wore blue jean capris and a camp half blood T-shirt. Her rainbow colored converse seemed to fit her well.
In her hand was nothing but a dagger. She didn't even wear armor or hold a shield. Her crystal diamond necklace was being held around her neck. The bright sun rays bounced off the necklace creating a small rainbow inside the pendent.
Conner on the other hand held a sword, shield, and he wore full battle armor.
I slowly walked up to the fight, but before I began to talk I decided to watch the demigod duel. A 14 year old girl against a 16 year old boy. I couldn't help but think the possibilities.
"Okay Conner, you ready to get your butt kicked?" asked Addison as she gave Conner an evil smile. She knows all people's weaknesses. I don't know how she figures them out. She had known my weak point from being dipped in the river Styx before I ever told her about it. I'm guessing its an animal thing.
"I'm so gonna win this time Addison!! You may have beaten me 7 times today but I'm not giving up!!" Conner said proudly.
"I doubt it." was all she said.
After that comment the battle burst into its beginning.
Conner lept towards Addison but she easily blocked. Conner tried again but the outcome was the same. He tried again and again but each time he missed. the fourth time he tried to stab her she quickly slid into hampster and scurried behind him. Then she shifted back into human and jumped on his back. Kids from other duels began to come by and watch. Conner began to yelp as he couldn't get Addison off. Her grip was too hard.
Out of the blue, Addison just disapeared. Just....poof. No girl on Conner's back. She was gone for about 3 minutes.
"Where'd she go?" asked Travis.
"I bet she ran away because she was scared!" Said a kid of Ares.
Everyone just began to go back to there practicing, until Conner let out a blood curdling scream. It was high pitched......like a girl.
"Whats wrong Conner?" Travis asked his twin. Conner, shaking with fear, pointed at the forest. Inside was a giant blood hound. It slowly walked towards Conner, and only he. Everyone else began to scream and Melissa (a daughter of Aphrodite) ran for Chiron. Everyone began to ready their weapons. An Apollo child readied the archers. I pulled out riptide and I stared at the hound right into it's eyes. They were chocolate brown, the same gentle kind ones as Addison's eyes. But instead of gentle, they were full of hatred and a yearning for blood. It smiled and showed its full row of sharp, pointy teeth.
I then realized something. Addison was the bloodhound. But Addison wasn't Addison.
