i agree totally, as soon as peyton said those words to brooke it was the beginning of the end, brookes insecurities got the better of her and she would have found a way out before he got a chance to break her heart either way, so in the end lucas telling her about the kiss just speeded the process up.

It's because Brooke didn't love Lucas anymore... he betrayed her trust and he left her and never called and he never lets her in like he does with peyton; I LOVE brucas but I don't think it was the kiss that caused them to tear apart as much as it was Lucas not being devoted to brooke like he should have been.

but it wasn't about the kiss in the end. did you not see 4.01/4.08? They wanted something more: an epic love story where no one or nothing could come between them. Their love just didn't go deep enough.
