We had already seen Brooke in a triangle in seasons 1-4. I wouldn't have wanted to sit through another one...

I agree, too...
This triangle wasn't even real triangle because Julian never ever even thought about Alex in that way.
And I love Alex & Julian's friendship, I hate that after S7 they had only a few scenes together, I hope we'll have at least one in S9 :)
