alwaysforever picked Yeah... Definitely unrealistic:
Lucas- Became a published author
Nathan- Plays in the NBA
Peyton- Created her own record label
Haley- Went on tour
Brooke- Clothes over Bros

Honestly they were all so successful and so young.... It just doesn't make sense.

Haha no kidding. By the time they were like 23 years old, they were either legit famous, or owned their own businesses. Whether you want to call it "famous" or not, they were all VERY successful, at VERY young ages. Must be nice!

I think this is a good example of how the show "changed" for me. This is one way that it started becoming unrelatable for the viewers. And when the viewers can't relate to what's going on... they don't feel the connection anymore, and it starts to lose it's meaning, in my opinion :/

^^^ Totally agree. And they weren't even successful in regular careers, they're all dealing with Music, Fashion, Professional Sports, and writing. Careers in things like that should take a long time and a lot of work.

Not to say that they didn't work hard for their dreams but still. C'mon!

No one can deny that it was unrealistic that all five of them became successful and out of them,3 of them became really famous. But then again this is a tv show,a fictional tv show so it won't always be relatable to the viewer...

Yeah it was a bit crazy and obviously completely unrealistic that they all became famous--- and while they were still such babies! Peyton was the last one to become famous and she was 22 or 23.

But then again... it's One Tree Hill... I wouldn't say I watch the show because it's realistic. There's a difference between being relatable and being realistic. Let's put it this way:
- 2 brothers in love with the same woman (Keith and Dan- Karen)
- 2 brothers become worst enemies (Nathan and Lucas)
- Nathan and Haley get married at the age of 17 while in their junior year of high school... after dating for a few months.
- Jake and all his baby mama drama
- All the main characters (except for Lucas) living without parental supervision in high school
- Peyton having 2 moms that died... and the fact that her birth mother tracked her down and they bonded before she died
- Rachel modeling for Maxim while in high school
- Dan killing his brother
- Dan hiring a woman to pretend to be in love with his brother
- Keith sleeping with his sister in law
- Peyton having her own psycho stalker!!
- Peyton almost dying sooo many times (Ian Banks- twice, school shooting, car accident, her pregnancy...)
- Keith and Karen finally getting together after about 20 years- and then Keith dies
-Nanny Carrie kidnapping Dan
- Lindsey deciding to call off her wedding to Lucas right at the moment when you say "I Do" and in front of all their closest friends and family.
- How many times did Lucas propose to Peyton? I can count at least 4.
- Jamie knowing EVERYTHING about the world even though he's like 3 feet tall
- Victoria suddenly becoming a loving mother after 23 years of ignoring the crap out of her daughter

I could name a million more things but you guys get the point. One Tree Hill was never realistic and will never be realistic... and the 5 main characters becoming famous and successful is just one more example. But anyone who watches OTH because they think it's realistic must be a miserable viewer. Are things relatable? Sure. That's why the characters and the relationships are so great. But realistic? Absolutely not. I could count the number of realistic things on the show.

Oh and Mouth, Dan, and Julian are famous too. At least they got one thing right... famous people usually have famous friends. They just usually aren't the same friends you had in high school.

^^^ Agreed the show is far from realistic. I think a few of those things you listed [[2 brothers in love with the same woman , Jake and all his baby mama drama, Keith sleeping with his sister in law, 2 brothers become worst enemies]] could happen but aren't very common. But honestly the show became more and more unrealistic season after season. By S4 [[Peyton's stalker?!?! Come on. Really?]] it was almost too much.

At least they got one thing right... famous people usually have famous friends. They just usually aren't the same friends you had in high school.

Lmao =) true
