This thought just occured to me after rewatching s5 and even though Mark did it so that Brooke may have been the one to call I honestly believe that even if Lucas had phoned Brooke, she wouldn't have gone for him, especially seen as how she was there for Peyton when she was crying and declaring her love for Lucas through the entire season. But what do you guys think?

No Way..she knew how sad Peyton was in s5 and she helped her get through it..that would have been stupid!

its kind of ridiculous to even imagine brooke getting back with lucas if he had called her... for quite a few reasons.

1)she wouldnt do that to peyton (NOT bashing peyton though)

2)she made it clear all throughout season 5 that she is basically LEYTONS #1 fan, and that she knows that lucas and peyton are supposed to be together. she acknowledged that lucas "wrote a whole book about how much he loved peyton", and that no one else stands a chance... so why would she all of a sudden believe that she should be with lucas instead of peyton?

3)most importantly... she didnt even love him anymore...and...

4)lucas doesnt love her anymore!

i think brooke still has feelings for him though, she just burries them because in a forgot to remember to forget she says lucas was the one boy she would give everything up for :)

^just because lucas had been the only boy in brookes life up until that point that she "MIGHT" have lost it all for, doesnt mean that she still has/had feelings for him. we havent seen ONE single thing ever since season 4 that would imply that brooke still has feelings for lucas. instead, we've seen her supporting/cheering on lucas and PEYTON. the assumption that brooke still has feelings for lucas is just that... assumption. it was never proven on screen, and my guess is that its never going to be proven on screen... since leyton was in fact endgame, and there is no more lucas lol

I have to agree with TheBoySawAComet....Lucas and Brooke no longer have any romantic feelings for each other and first of all it's really hard to believe he would call Brooke instead of Peyton....but even so....even if he called Brooke...she would not have gone with him...TheBoySawAComet stated the reasons why....Brooke is one if not THE biggest Leyton supporters!!!

i never thought it would have been brooke. neither of them showed feelings for each other & brooke is too good of a friend to do that. so, even if he had called her, i don't think she would have wanted him.

OMG I loved the Breyton scenes from s5, I mean I loved the whole season to be honest even if Manface had to be there.

HELLO people, we're talking about brooke here, she gave up the one boy she really loved for peytons happiness, shed probablly do anything for peyton, soo never in a million years would she end up hurting her. altho i do think that sometimes her selflessness is unnecessary and peyton is often undiserving of it :P and yea to Hanz8's coment about how brooke said lucas scott was the only boy she would have given everything up for, i really wish that were totally true, cuz i think she'd give everything up BUT peyton's happiness for lucas :(

but if she did, i think she'd do it if she thought he felt the same way, yea she may have gave lucas up back in s4 but it was because she knew he didn't feel the same way about her that she did about him, it wasn't because of peyton, not in my opinion anyway, she gave him up for him, not for peyton, probably the only moment i came anywhere near liking her, but i still think that act was to benefit lucas because she loved him, not to benefit peyton...but i still think if she felt that way about him still and she thought he felt it to she would have went...but in any event it doesn't matter cuz she past him anyway

I've said it many times, I feel like if for some reason Mark didn't go the LP route/wanted to prolong it, he still could have given the BL fanbase something without actually having them get back together.

I could easily see {and it's been done in fanfic quite a bit} Luke laughing and saying something like "Just kidding, but seriously, do you want to just get away from everything for a while? Take your mind off of Angie & I'll forget about Lindsay and we can just be two friends having fun together."

It actually wouldn't have been a stretch either. BL had clearly built up a great friendship, they both needed the break from the drama...

And Laura, seriously?? Your opinion is your opinion but I know damn well that LP fans didn't appreciate being told LP was over S2-S3. We all have the right to believe what we want to & it's ridiculous that after all this time, people still feel the need to try and bring BL fans down. LP is GONE. Who cares what BL fans want to believe! We're not hurting a damn fly so why does it bother you so much if we have differing opinions??

I understand being outspoken when it comes to the trash talking, I won't hesitate to question someone on why they need to trash a character/couple in every damn pick, but an opinion on whether or not BL got closure?? That's why it was soooo damn obvious who Lucas was going to call!

She wouldn't do it to Peyton, but most of all her relationship with Luke was just friendly. She moved on at the on of season 4 & just wouldn't marry Lucas if he asked her, because she didn't have this kind of feelings toward him.

If she went she would be the biggest hypocrate in the world IMO. After supporting Leyton all season & saying, 'It's always been Lucas and Peyton'. For me Brooke was not even an option for S5 proposal, after a whole season Lindsey - Peyton - Lindsey - Peyton it wouldn't make sense for him to choose Brooke.

I think we shoudn't forget about the fact that Brooke had a chance to hit on Lucas when he asked her to stay while being drunk yet she wouldn't do that. Now, I'm not saying that the fact of not having sex with a drunk ex-boyfriend/object of undying love of your best friend in itself is something that Brooke should get a credit for because had sheactually done that it would have been her taking adventage of a situation, however, what's remarkable about her choice not to spend that night with him was the fact that she demonstrated a clear character development since the days when she would run after Lucas whenever he calls her despite knowing that Peyton clearly had feelings for her (and technically this is what she did in S1). By the time of season 5 Brooke was a fully formed adult and even if she DID have some feelings for Lucas remaining deep in her heart hence the Lucas Scott being the only guy she would have lost it all for statement (which is understandable considering that he was her first love and just few years aren't enough to get over that feeling completely), logically he fully realized that those feelings are just an echo of the past and most importantly, she didn't WANT to get into that again because she realized how dysfunctional her relationship with Lucas were. Also, Brooke supporting Peyton for the entire season 5 during the Lindsey situationand her full support of LP simply wouldn't have made any sense if she had decided to go after Lucas herself.
