S2 & S4 tied in the last pick so here's the tie-breaker.

This is easy for me - S2 is one of, if not my actual favorite. I love it! It had my OTP being amazing and building up their friendship and slowly falling for each other, it had Jeyton being all perfect and falling in love ♥ Brooke & Peyton's friendship was at it's best...

Hands down. I honestly have a hard time even remembering much of season 2 lol

season 4 is the best :D

season 2 was amazing

season 2 was boring, and season 4 was amazing!

I looooove season 2! I think every main character, except for Haley, was at their best (or almost their best) in season 2.

I loved Peyton's struggles and her determination and strength in season 2 (opening Tric, fighting prejudices...), I loved how devoted Lucas was to all his loved ones & friends in season 2, I loved watching Nathan act so dedicated to his marriage and then so torn apart when Haley left, I loved seeing Haley embrace her music & her interactions with her family were great, and I loved seeing Brooke become independent & embrace her inner leadership abilities (getting her first job & fighting for fair wages, becoming class president...). I also thought all the couples/friendships had awesome scenes that season (even Brooke & Nathan, Peyton & Nathan, and Peyton & Haley...who often got short-ended later in the show).

Plus season 2 had so much significance for the rest of the seasons to follow: opening Tric, Deb trying to kill Dan but Dan thinking it was Keith, Lucas finding out he had HCM, Lucas & Nathan beginning to be close, Haley developing her music, Peyton's beginning as a musical entrepreneur, Brooke beginning to develop her feeling of self worth & independence.

I also LOVED Karen's relationship with all 5 main characters during this season. She was such a loving but feisty mother to Lucas (especially when he went to live with Dan), she was so supportive of Haley when she found out Haley got married, she reached out to Brooke when Brooke's parents moved to California, she believed in Peyton & worked with Peyton to open Tric, and she provided emotional support & hope to Nathan when he was broken-hearted.

I think season 2 also had the best recurring characters: Taylor, Jake, Lydia James, Jimmy James, Chris Keller, Ellie, Cooper, Andy, Nikki, and Jules... and they actually served a purpose & helped further the story lines.

I like season 4, it's just not my favorite season b/c it's when the show switched from being like any teen soap opera to being like any daytime soap opera with psycho stalkers, visits from ghosts, and visions of the future. I still like a lot of things about the season, but it just felt like they tried too hard to make it dramatic that they started to lose the "heart" of OTH.

whoa jemgrl theres not much more i can say, you pretty much said it. how s2 is important and the main reason s4 sucked.
