when did Lucas fell in love with peyton?

i don't get it!!!
i mean, allegedly he was in love with brooke in seasons 2 and 3, so he fell in love with peyton in season 4? when? or was it in season 1?
in season 6 he said he had always loved peyton...

he has loved her since season 1 and i know he dated brooke in season 2 and 3 but he has always loved peyton even when he was engaged to lindsey. like he said he has loved peyton from the first time he ever saw her. i love leyton so much :)
