Bauer’s digital station The Hits Radio is being taken over by X Factor boyband One Direction this coming bank holiday weekend.

Each of the five members of the group will present their own hour-long slot on the station and the band will also be interviewed by Hits presenter Chris Younie.

Nicole Scherzinger's One Direction Crush?

The band reckon Nic has a soft spot for one boy in particular.

According to the One Direction lads, Louis is only in the band because Nicole Scherzinger took a liking to him.

Nicole played a part in putting the band together last year from a bunch of the rejected X Factor solo acts, but Niall says Louis was her favourite.

"I saw her," Niall explained to the Daily Mirror.

"She kept saying, 'The one in the red hat,' when they were choosing us for the band.

"She liked you," he told Louis.

Nicole has previously claimed credit for helping to create One Direction during her time as a guest judge on the show.

"I’m not taking credit for the whole One Direction thing," Nicole told Capital.

"But hey, you know, hands in the air, right? I was there, I was the voice of guidance!"

One Direction melted the hearts of some of their young female fans this week, when they made a bit of time after a gig for a quick chat and some autographs.

Caitlin Liddell (13), Bryony Devlin (16) and Shannon Smith (13) waited for hours in the cold last Monday, for the chance to chat to meet Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne as they performed in Falkirk’s City nightclub.

They weren’t allowed into the club as they were under-age, so the teens waited outside, with the hope of catching a glimpse of the boyband.

We thought no-one could love X Factor 2010's hot new boyband One Direction more than we do.
