Well, my absolutely favorite character in the book (especially in the book) is Gringoire, but close behind him is Phoebus. :D Yeah, I know he's a jerk, but only in the musical (and even there I like him a lot, cause he's played by my fave singer), in the book Chateaupers is just a lost guy, who has no idea what to do. But, still the first place belongs to Gringoire. ;)

Frollo is my favorite. I love a tragic anti-hero!

Frollo is my favorite character, he has a very compelling character arc which for him he teeters back and forth from constantly. His ever obsessive and possessive passion to "have" La Esmeralda for himself, even though she must tell him about five times to leave her alone. Frollo is the definition of an obsessive stalker.

I don't know...
I like Esmeralda as a character, but Helene Segara's portrayal of hers I don't find memorable enough.
Frollo and Gringoire are great in the musical.
