So the real morale of the story is respect- Nature, the elderly, strangers, family, and for one's self. This is shown all throughout the movie. When you respect people, they will treat you well & will comfort you when you're down. Even if you don't want to like someone, you should still be kind. And finally, when you treat nature with respect, it will respect you back.
