@StarWarsFan7: ...what is it with you people and making biased decisions!?
Cheerilee's Garden, okay, THIS is Bucked Up!
Trixie's Funhouse and Cheerilee's Garden are pretty danged bad, too...and the latter is somewhat similar to Cupcakes. Sweet Apple Massacre is something that should probably just never be read by anyone, ever.
All of these stories are like the Aristocrats joke--they deliberately try to be as horrifying, extreme, disgusting, repulsive, and appalling as they possibly can be. It's pretty tough to get worse than Cupcakes, and the rest seem undoubtedly inspired by it.
Anyway, the result of such a thing will probably be a) utterly horrifying, as it's meant to be; b) little to no effect, because you know what you're getting into and expect them to do their worst; or c) amusement--if you've got a twisted side to your sense of humor...or simply because, aside from pure horror and disbelief, there's almost no other response to have in the face of such outrageous, absurd ridiculousity!
Cupcakes: a little disgusted, but the psyco in me eventually took over and loved it.
Sweet Apple Massacre: MUCH more gory than Cupcakes, i dont care what else anyone else says, i almost threw up when i read it, then i had a good psycotic laugh afterwards.
Cheerilee's Garden: longest of all the stories, so i got really bored, but the deaths were in good detail and were mostly planned out, kinda like a Saw movie.
Trixie's Funhouse: stupid, annoying, had no compelling plot, the only reason i put it on this pick was because at least it had killing in it.
I've only read Cupcakes and The Rainbow Factory. So, out of those two, it's Cupcakes, and I've actually, literally passed out while reading Cupcakes, half way through and I regret it, totally.
~Cupcakes~
I am a HUGE fan of Pinkie Pie (and Rainbow Dash), so "Cupcakes" hit me harder than most. However, I was still able to clearly decipher the Pinkie Pie in "Cupcakes" from the real Pinkie Pie. The syntax in the fic is good and the style is fairly well done. The torture/murder is descriptive and (occasionally) sickening. However, the story itself is greatly rushed.
Overall- A well standing, fine fic.
~Sweet Apple Massacre~
I read it, and... no... just no. The grammar, spelling, and proper sentence structure are lacking substantially. The descriptions were the strongest point of this story... besides its livid and repulsive content... though that does not say much. Its story was slightly rushed, but horribly written.
Overall- A distasteful fiction that should not be read once... and NEVER read twice.
~Rainbow Factory~
This is the only fiction of which I had trouble finishing (for reasons other than disgust). It is well written, albeit its description is confusing at times. The lack of detail about the setting became apparent to me and it made the story difficult to follow. Grammar and syntax wise, this fan fiction is nearly flawless.
This fic is the least gory of the four, but is one of the most atmospheric. Tension and building Terror kept me spell bound at its end. In my opinion, I believe that the author could have created a stronger overall ending/climax. However, the final words of the tale gave me chills... and haunt me to this day...
Overall- A slower, more atmospheric story with a poignant elegance to it.
~Cheerilee's Garden~
I've saved what I hold to be the best for last. Cheerilee's Garden is not only the most elaborate and gruesome of the stories, but it is also (perhaps) the best formulated. A limited number of spelling or grammar errors are to be found within it. It's syntax is well structured. The story's development has the same sweat-inducing effect as a ticking time bomb.
Foreshadowing only adds to the tense and intense aura enveloping the fic. It's death scenes are /beyond/ horrific. I almost vomited during the first! For two days after reading it, I was mentally disturbed by its grisly refinement. IF you decide to start reading this fic, make sure that you are determined to finish it. If you question whether or not you will be able to handle the story- Don't read it.
Overall- Fantastic! It's the most horrible wonderful MLP Gorefic in existence (in my opinion). I doubt anything will be able to top the staunch hellishness of this tale.
