The thing is, the name Sweetie Drops is used and books and a few times in the show, while Bon Bon is used in games and in the show.

To be honest I don't have much of a preference, but I think I prefer to think of her as Sweetie Drops to differentiate between her and g1 Bon Bon. I wouldn't have minded if she was canonically Bon Bon too though (there are a few other minor characters who share names with g1 ponies).
