It is now my favorite song of all time. Especially because of Princess Cadence's and Chrysalis' singing.

This song is breathtaking. Like, WOW. All three in this special are BEAUTIFULLY written & performed, and this has to be my favorite. Incredible. Also--anybody notice it's a total The Little Mermaid" reference? Changeling-Cadence gazing into the mirror, singing with wicked glee about how she's fooled everyone by taking the place of the prince's true love, planning to wed him for power...just like Ursula as Vanessa. The spell she's placed over him, the heroine racing to stop the wedding w/ help from a friend...part of her true self being revealed to us...I mean, I've seen bad weddings interrupted before, but this and Eric/Vanessa are certainly among the most awesomely definitive moments ever for that!

As soon as she looked in the mirror, I fangasmed. Chrysalis was very, VERY Ursula/Vanessa-like in her singing, gloatingly evil looks, etc.
I'd marry Ingram if I could. Sondheim, Disney, amazing musicals in general--we've got quite a bit in common to work with. ;3
I was even waiting for some kind of dirty subliminal message from Celestia (j/k.) Guess seeing her real reflection in the mirror might have been a bit too much of a reference--or rather, it would have given away the surprise of how she truly looks like too soon. Amazing episodes jam-packed with awesomeness. Can't. Stop. Listening!!

Daniel never fails us...just gets better and better, like the show itself. The characters have such powerful, stage-type voices. They really belted this dramatic number. And no wonder Cadence is such an astonishing singer--just look at her name! Gorgeous!!!!
