My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Question

Homosexual or Bisexual Pony?

I thought of this idea the other day. What if they brought on a character who was Homosexual, or at the very least, Bisexual.

Think about it, the Mane 6 meet a new mare/stallion, and it turns out he/she is actually gay/lesbian?

I actually think it might be a good message for the kids who watch this show. Because some kids who watch this show, be them girls or boys, might not be strait. It would show them that it's good to accept who you are, and not let it bring you down.

I'm not against gays and lesbians, in case you were wondering. I myself am strait.

So what do you think? Would it be a good idea? Or would it backfire?

Most likely it would backfire. There are only a few people who accept gays/lesbians in this world, it just wouldn't work.

Well, I have to agree with Sean. An appearance of such character in a kids show counts as promoting homosexuality in my terms, which is - let's face it - an unnatural behavior, thus they would be promoting to accept unnatural behavior. I've never seen a baby born from the mate of two men or two women. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against homosexuals or bisexuals (I even have a friend who's gay and he's an awesome person), as long as they are not promoting it, by shoving down their sexuality on my throat with gay parades and whatnot, where muscular men dressed up as birds of paradise are dancing on a truck and the commercial TV shows it live and in color during the news, that two bearded men are exploring each other's esophagus with their tongues. Whatever people do in their own bedroom in private is their business and I gladly accept that. But it would be out of the range of my tolerance to see such a character in any kids show.

Of course, I wasn't trying to offend anyone, this is just my opinion. I'm a very conservative guy.

Besides, the primary message of My Little Pony is love and tolerance. But I believe that even tolerance must have some limits.

Yes, I agree. This was just an idea anyway. And now I'm totally embarrassed....

It's not a bad idea, it's unfortunately too drastic for some people today.

I agree with that answer completely

Well, we all have different standards. There is no need to be embarrassed by this stuff, I just don't think it's a good idea to promote such behavior in a kid's show. As I said: acceptance and tolerance must have its limits.

I know good luck Charlie did it, and that's a kids show, but I am not sure how well that went for them. I honestly think it's a good idea but the parents might not think so. They went ballistic over Derpy Hooves because they thought she was making fun of the mentally challenged. They ended up changing her back after awhile anyway and from what we have seen there was no back lash from parents causing them to change or get rid of her. I would love to see the day that Hasbro introduces a homosexual or bi sexual pony or even family. Too bad a lot of people would shun or hate the idea though.

Yes, I saw that episode, and I don't think it went bad for them. I think it would be interesting, but you're right, it will probably never happen.

Yes, me too. But sadly, I don't think people would really accept that.
