My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Question

Is a cutie mark on BOTH sides of a pony's flank?

For the longest time I thought a cutie mark was only on one side but lately I've seen shots of it being on both especially in "Call of the cutie" when Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara were walking in circles. But on the figures I only recall their cutie marks being on the left side of their flanks

Care to clarify?

From my understanding, yes, they are on both sides of the flank. There was some conflict with what the animators were saying/doing at first, showing an overhead shot of Rainbow Dash with only one cutie mark (I'm not sure of the episode). But then I guess they decided that they have them on both sides, and it's been that way ever since.

In the show it's on both sides. But in merchandise like the stuffed animals (which I proudly own 24) they have it on one side.
