Get ready to (maybe) welcome My Chemical Romance back to the black parade: The band officially broke up in 2013, but returned to Twitter Wednesday. The musicians teased something happening Sept. 23 and changed their avatar to a graphic of a cross surrounded by the letters “MCRX.”
The tweet features a short video of a flag waving as the piano intro to 2006’s “Welcome to the Black Parade” plays. The clip ends with text that reads the date, “9/23/16” — exactly one month before the 10-year anniversary of 2006’s 
MCR released what would be their final studio album, 
Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, 
in 2010 before disbanding. Frontman Gerard Way announced the news in an essay, in which he recalled waking up that morning and realizing, “My Chemical Romance had ended.”
“There are many reasons My Chemical Romance ended,” he wrote. “The triggerman is unimportant, as was always the messengers- but the message, again as always, is the important thing … And I can assure you there was no divorce, argument, failure, accident, villain, or knife in the back that caused this, again this was no one’s fault, and it had been quietly in the works, whether we knew it or not, long before any sensationalism, scandal, or rumor.”
“My Chemical Romance is done,” he concluded. “But it can never die. It is alive in me, in the guys, and it is alive inside all of you.”
