...And one you should give a second chance.

I've been known to have music tastes that aren't for everyone. People tend to be a little crazy about what music they do and don't like but if it makes you feel good who really cares, right? I was up last night watching music videos for one of the artists on here and I was thinking to myself "Why aren't they more popular? Why does nobody I know talk about them?" Then I answered my own question and decided to inform the masses! So lets get started!

Lets start with the one you should give a second chance...Carly Rae Jepsen. Of course you know her, whether you want to or not. You're probably thinking "I already know her and I don't like her, so why should I give her another glance?" but I have an answer for that, like I do to 22% of life's other questions.

The answer is that if you love 80s music like I do, and the fabulous synth sounds that accompany it, you quite possibly would love her third album Emotion. An album that I'm still mad about that didn't get nominated for ANY Grammy's. The same year that a certain someone else's not-so-aptly titled "80s throwback" album actually won Album of the Year. Not bitter about that at all. Nope.

In Short: When you can get your boyfriend with vastly different music taste than you to listen to this on his own, it's pretty special.

Now onto the five!

Frankmusik

Why You May Not Know Him: He's from England, and not that mainstream over there anyway.

In Short: He's one of my all-time favorite artists, and as far as I'm concerned the best modern synthpop artist. Lately he has been producing and putting out his own stuff, and it's still as good (occasionally even better) than his mass produced music from early in his career.

Tove Lo

Why You May Not Know Her: You might actually. "Habits (Stay High)" and "Talking Body" were pretty big hits and she was big enough to tour with Katy Perry. But you might not have listened to her outside the hits.

In Short: Her latest album Lady Wood was an instant hit with me and her catchy beats and meaningful lyrics make her a sleeper hit.

Florrie

Why You May Not Know Her: She's never actually released an LP, and doesn't really have any mainstream hits.

In Short: Drummer, singer, song-writer or Victoria's Secret model? You decide. Just don't sleep on my girl!

Foxes

Why You May Not Know Her: I'm not sure why. There's really no excuse.

In Short: After being a "featured" artist on many hits, she released her first very aptly titled album Glorious was just that - glorious. From start to finish, I don't skip a single song. Please please don't sleep on my beauty!

Karmin

Why You May Not Know Them: You probably do, just not by name. Their first big hit "Brokenhearted" has a hook that I guarantee you've likely heard before, but never associated it with them.

In Short: I don't know who to be more jealous of - Nick or Amy. I'm gonna go with Nick by a smaller margin. Amy is gorgeous, can rap and dance and sing and did I mention gorgeous? 😍 They have such a massive amount of talent I feel is being wasted by their covers.
