It doesn't have a thing on music from the 20th century. That was when real music was out. Now, it's a mess. I don't even listen to basically ANY of today's music anymore. The quality of it isn't good like it was back then. I stick to the 60's-90's. That's it. I feel sorry for the kids today. They don't know real music.
For the most part, terrible. Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber, etc. just kill the meaning of music in my opinion, and there are almost no songs played on the radio that I can stand. There are a couple that I really like every once in a while, like "Airplaines" for example, and some extremely underrated bands/artists whose new music is hardly or never played, like Evan Taubenfeld, Paramore, Flyleaf, etc. but for the most part I'm a little more old school with music.

EXACTLY how I feel. Thankyou soooo much. I couldn't agree more. Some of these artist today are just...sad.
It's much electro now unlike the past,it's rare.
Well because it's 2010 now,the technology era was
born. Some genres like pop and rock were made into
electro now.
Most of it is ok except for all the stupid artists like lady gaga and justin beiber, i cant stand them.
but im more of a rock and metal person which is better then all the shit that people still listen to.

Me too. I'd rather listen to old rock band's like The Runaways than most of today's crap.
i like some pop some techno and almost all screamo/whatever u wanna call it i just generalize it and say any band that screams is screamo in my eyes cause theres to many freaking different names for it and i also like a lot of contemporary and alternative
Well... as time goes by, people are getting more and more interested in pop culture. Everyone is obsessed with celebrity gossip and who's dating who. Almost everyone now wants to be a celebrity.
The easiest way to become famous is to become a musician. ANYONE can sing.. some better than others, but anyone could become descent with enough training. Those with the right connections can become a famous musician in practically an instant, even if they don't have that much natural talent (just pile on the autotune). All you need to be is somewhat interesting and not incredibly ugly and you'll have fans.
The reason some music today is lacking is because it's not coming from the right place. It's coming from the desire to be a famous musician, not from the pure love of music and the urge to inspire their listeners.
That's why the music is so... shallow? I can't think of the right word right now.
That's what I believe, anyways.
i hate the lyrics and message of today's mainstream songs. basically its all bout sex, drugs, money, and looks. no passion no meaning. u would think they could be a little more deep.
New generation doesn't bring any new genres (REALLY worthy genres) and really worthy musicians...Alright,maybe I know some real musicians...But now people prefer modern garbage. It's so sad.
Also, some genres have died in the 20th century like rock'n'roll, psychedelic rock and etc.
I don't like today's music -_-"
(Sorry,I don't speak English)
Today's rock is the only thing that's good, to be honest. Eminem brought back rap... slightly, but one artist can't really change the music industry. Today's music is mainstream shit. Lady GaGa, Justin Bieber, Taio Cruz, Katy Perry, Ke$ha? They all suck, in my opinion. Crappy, crappy artists. Some are good, I give you that. Bruno Mars is very talented... and he has sweet lyrics. :)
Trance nowadays is also mainstream crap. Legendary DJs like AVB and Tiesto are playing stuff that pleases pop audiences for some reason. :@
I don't know where music is going these days.
I believe in rock.
well, it depends on which genre that ur yourtalking about. If u mean pop, hip hop and that crap, then i hate todays musik. but if u mean today's musik as in screamo, emocore, post hardcore, and deathcore, then i luv todays musik. but i guess i hate the mainstream musik of today.
Some of it's okay, but most of it you won't remember in years to come. I mean, stuff in the 90s and before you remember 10 years later, but you're lucky to remember a recent song 2 years later!
