As a child at the young age of three, I watched a man fight on T.V.. He said I'm the best, and you all know the rest. A man called Muhammad Ali. Well I watched this fine sport with my dad. As a young girl I turned out not bad. Sharring quality time with my dad made it fine. The pleasure alone made me glad. On this young girl Ali formed an impression. I saw through his heated aggression. He believed in himself. And it gained him wealth. His kind eyes show it in every expression. In my mind I can still see him prance. Sparring to his ole shuffle dance. For I hold so much grattitude, for this fightermans attitude. He's a ledgend for fate showed him a chance. His appearence is so very dramatic. So articulate in his vocabulary gramatic. He say's it from his heart, or the words they won't depart. His inner strength is really quite tramatic. Ths man he fought with such passion. An example of a life we could fashion. He refined his best skill. With (God's?Allah's) grace and own will. Everything else he decided to ration. Now it doesn't matter what goals you persue. As long as you stick to them like glue. For what one admires increases hearts desires, a few things I learnd from him too. For it's wrong to judge someones ability. It can supress them from further capability. It is best to encourage then it is to discourage. The point I make has valid provability. Well a boxer I'm not, I'm to mellow. For my muscles are weaker then jello. But when under the crunch, I can throw a good punch to the odd male dominating fellow. Now it's hard to chalange a fighter. When you're female, and 100 pounds lighter. But I'll chalange this man. The best way I can, With pen in hand, I am quite a writer. The poem that he wrote is "Me Whee" The shortest poem in written history. Well I do so admire for his poem did inspire. It's clever, it's witty I'll agree. The poem that I wrote is "I Try". Just felt like writting, don't know why. You ask "How is it better?" "Well it's less two more letter. For my poem is shorter, that's no lie. For it is not glory I seek. I'd rather be shy, and quite meek. "I Try", to be humble, "I Try'" to not grumble, but 'tis hard to shut my fat beak. Now Ali you don't have to give in. Just buck up and stick out that chin. You act so damb tough, but you're full of kind stuff. It's not hard to say that "I win." For a good sport always reins in the end. No matter what title he defends. Who cares who does win, if each shares a grin. For you win with a handshake a friend. Muhammad you're much better in a bout. And that I am sure of no doubt. For you are my hero, more so than DeNero, for you carry you're weight with such clout. Now I'm sure in you're heart you want a fight. C'mon and sock it to me with all of your might. Just show me some sass, and I'll whoop your brown azzz. I encourage you, it's your every right. Must be hard to put down your glove, when fightings the thing you most love. No need shed a tear, for I'll buy you a beer, ( a yuk, yuk joke) For you might need a push and a shove. So why don't you get slim and trim, and start working in that new fangled gym. For I do believe you've got tricks up your sleeve, maybe time to jump out on that limb. For I luv you with my heart, body, and soul,. And luv should be everyones goal. When you admire and respect, all race creed and sect, no telling what things might unfol.
Sincerely, Karen Manganye (Martel)
