Part of being American is being CAN-DO - we CAN DO it ourselves (though we often prefer to pay someone else to do it for us). Surely being able to bake our own cookies is part of being American?

So, can we still bake our own cookies (especially the way great-great (etc) grandma would, that is from flour, milk, eggs, choc chips and so forth) or do we depend on 'Mrs Fields' to do it for us?
