Maybe the theater manager needs to have the ventilation system checked?
I'm like the grump whenever we see movies.
But I need to watch the movie, for chrissakes!
why would anyone bring a baby to a movie?
....i hate that.
Just a note on a popular pick: As a parent who has taken babies to films, I can say that I'm sympathetic to others who do so...but if your baby starts to cry, pick it up and take it out of the house! I take babies with me to the theater because they sleep so peacefully through films; if they wake up, you've got to put them to sleep again immediately! I like to say that my son has seen Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Jurassic Park 3, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, as well as a bunch of others, but it's a joke, really: he slept through all of them (babies tend to sleep better with lots of bass, which is a given in action films).
I would never take a child to the theater who would be awake during the film, unless the film was one that was age-appropriate. But we've probably all had the experience of parents bringing toddlers to the theater for R-rated movies. A good friend of mine told me how two 7-year olds sitting next to him in the theater were dropped off by a parent to see Pan's Labyrinth! Not only was that way inappropriate for their age, but they didn't even have an adult with them to help them with the trauma of what they were seeing. YIKES!
That and cellphones going off... and people talking on them. It says right at the beginning too, turn off your cell phone!
And I'm sorry, but going to the movies is not a divine right, and if your kid cries AT ALL, then you screwed up my movie. Same if your damned cell phone rings. Turn off the phone, get a sitter for the baby.
The only time I bring my babies to the theater is when they were infants and sleeping through the whole thing (yes they have woken up but I take them out until they are back asleep), but I can respect people who don't have the luxury of having a babysitter. I mean I honestly can't see the issue as long as the person with the crying child doesn't let them cry through the whole thing. I mean if they give it a minute and the baby stops crying then what is the big deal.
I usually bring my own food, except the popcorn and don't exactly care when people get up to go pee.
But the bleeping teens are so annoying. For Pete's sake, shut up. I remember this one time I was watching Eragon(I'm a fan of the book :) ] and these god forsaken teens would not shut up. They were sooo ARGGGGGGGGGGG! They kept making these stupid ass comments like whe he took off his shirt "DAMN HE'S SO HOTTT" or when the dragon hatched "AWWWWWWWWWWWWW". I would be fine with it, if they didn't yell it. They also(THEY DID THIS, I SWEAR) jumped up in their seats and started climbing and jumping over the seats in the front section. They JUMPED the seats, while the movie was PLAYING. Then they started texting. OMG! Then texted while jumping over the seats.!!! I finally got pissed enough to yell at them. I swore only once. O:)
babies in theatres?! hate that.
and sorry but im one chattering teen lol
People think since it's quiet that texting is okay to do. WRONG! To the people behind you it is like shinning a flashlight into our eyes while trying to concentrate with what is on the big screen. If I had my way I would put up a scrambler to block all cells once in a theater. Honestly, if you are in a movie you don't need to be in contact with the outside world because you ruin the whole point of going to the movies in the first place. TO ESCAPE.
As for talking in the movies I can't really put blame on chattering teens as I've been in theaters with adults that are just as bad. Sometimes it's the elderly having to explain plot points to one another or simpley just very rude adults.
Another thing is when people come late to a movie and they expect you to move so they can sit together. Seriously? I mean if you know the movie is going to be packed you should get there as early as the other patrons who wish to claim their sits before the theater fills up. Don't expect to incovienece me just cause you can't get to a show on time.
As for babies crying, well, they should be taken out when they get unruley. However, I think the parents really should try to get a babysitter. When I see toddlers going into movies such as Saw or Hostel it really makes me sick.
Sorry folks, said I wasn't going to go off on all the things that tick me off but I guess I couldn't help it.
Anyways, I really HATE people talking during movies. The only voices we should hear are from the movie, for crying out loud! People are here to see the moive, not to hear you talk about your money troubles or someone in your family went to jail. Shut up and watch. If you are going to talk, let me tell you something: STAY HOME!
