- The Princess Bride
- Interview with the Vampire
- The Wizard of Oz
- American Psycho

I wouldn't say the movie is better than the book often, but there definitely are some times where this is the case.

Rebecca is better than the book, Gone with the Wind is pretty much the same thing as the book. There must be others, I just don't remember right now. It really depends on the book, some aren't really that great so film adaptations can take a simple material to another level.

Gone with the Wind, I enjoyed more the movie, I got bored with the book.
The Green Mile was a really great adaptation, almost as good as SK book.
