In 2018, the classic Disney film Mary Poppins got a sequel called Mary Poppins Returns. I have such strong feelings on this film that I felt like sharing how I felt in a full review.

The Plot

The Banks family, a widowed dad and his three kids, are dealing with the loss of the mom of the house being gone and their house at risk of being taken away. Thankfully, Mary Poppins arrives and teaches the family how to deal with their family loss in a respectable and meaningful away. She, along with a lamplighter, helps the family with their mission of saving their house from the greedy Mr. Wilkins.

The plot of the film has been referred to do as the type of plot that has been too many times. However, this film handles what could be considered a predictable plot, in the best way possible. This film is brimming with so much genuine heart and cheerfulness that the film's strong emotional impact makes the plot work. It's very easy to get affected by the drama and the lighthearted nature of the film. It handles on how to deal with the loss of a loved one in a respectful, helpful, and optimistic way.

The Cast

The cast knocks it out of the park. Emily Blunt is my favorite actress and was the main reason that I was excited for this film. She gives an awesome performance as the title character. She plays Mary Poppins as an incredibly likeable and heroic character. However, Ms. Poppins is a master at wit and enjoys trolling the Banks family. Emily Blunt makes Mary Poppins' character traits charming and fun. The film is a wonderful experience in every scene that she's in. I can't think of a single person in the entertainment industry who was a better choice for Mary Poppins than Emily Blunt.

A cast member that I didn't know was going to be in the film was David Warner. David Warner is one of the greatest actors of all time, so having him be in this film was a charming treat. He has a minimal role, but I'm so glad that he got to be a part of this incredible film.

Colin Firth does a really good job at playing a villain who falls into the "love to hate" category. Dick Van Dyke has a fun cameo.

The Characters

This film does an excellent job at making the characters likeable. The film's best character is Mary Poppins. She has all the heart, charm, and coolness that a great protagonist should have. She's an eloquent mentor as well as a pro at never missing a chance to give someone a witty comeback or troll someone in a playful way. She may be sneaky, but not in an unlikeable way. It's very nice to have a main character who isn't 100% perfect and pure of heart, but still remains a wonderful person and role model.

Michael Banks and his kids are likeable characters who, like Mary Poppins, are far from perfect, but are good people. I really like the film's villain, Mr. Wilkins. His plan and dilogue are cartoonsily over the top, but in a entertaining, fun way.

The Visuals

This film is an amazing visual experience. The scenes that show off how great the visuals are are the scenes where Mary, Jack, and the kids go into an animated world and Mary performs a dance sequence. The costumes in Mary and Jack's dance scene abosutely incredible. The scant few scenes that are animated are an eye catching, great experience. It has far better animation than any other theatrical animated film of 2018. I may sound like an olf fashioned snob for adoring traditonal animation and not being nearly as fond of CGI animation, but the animation of this film is a treat.

The Songs

The songs are a delightfully charming and fun experience to listen to. Emily Blunt is an expert at singing well, so she helps give so much passion and entertainment to the songs. In one scene, Mary Poppins sings a song to the three kids that's truly touching and had me close to tears. Every single song is impressive in its own way.

Overall

Mary Poppins Returns is my favorite film of 2018. It has the most heart and was the best experience that I had watching a film from that year. It shows off the brightest and optimistic side of the world in a magical, entertaining, one a kind experience, and because of that, this is a must watch film. I award the film 10 out of 10 and since it isn't nominated for the Oscar Best Picture Award I give it my personal Award of Best Film of 2018.

Christopher Nolan directed three films that starred Christian Bale as Batman. Those films are often considered to be the best Batman films. The Dark Knight, in particular, is an extremely beloved film. It has gotten to the point that some people act like the Batman films that came before The Dark Knight trilogy aren't good. That's a feeling that I disagree with. This article is for showcasing the things in The Dark Knight trilogy that I like, as well as the things that I have a problem with.

The Good Things In The Trilogy:

Hans Zimmer's music has a big, epic feel to it. It helps bring the atmosphere...

Elijah: Part 3 (Razilee and Elijah) New Trailer
Elijah: Part 3 (Razilee and Elijah) New Trailer
The third installment to the Razilee and Elijah franchise finally made a reveal notice after 7 months of absence. The reveal was a daunting 27 seconds worth of new content that showcases and promises beach scenes, snowboarding, and new areas unexplored from the franchise. Though we also got a glimpse of Elijah perched on a forest floor, he seemingly was rested and quietly reserved and the trailer seemed to be a reminiscent teaser tied with Haunting vocals from the first film.

Though there were notable and unexplained changes. The third film is either being renamed/or showcased as "Elijah: Part 3" and Razilee was absent from the teaser. Not only, but the release date for the film calls for an October release rather than the previous two films which were released respectively in September 2019 and September 2020.

What do you think of the new film teaser?

If you are in PST time, the teaser trailer might not be showcased until May 8, 2021 at 9:00AM

Everyone resists authority at some point in their life. The world is full of rebels fighting against evil for the sake of “good”, right? Okay, maybe I’ve just seen too many movies about the rise of the underdog, but this theme can certainly make for a compelling piece of entertainment.

The latest to catch attention is the female-led indie action-thriller short, “THE RESISTANCE.” It stars ANNA FRANKL-DUVAL and Lenore Marks as best friends fighting a totalitarian authority now in command of the United States.

“The Resistance” has screened at the Portland Film Festival, Berkshire...

Falling in love can be a wonderful thing. But it isn’t always easy when you come from different backgrounds, especially if you’re not even human.

In the new award-winning indie horror-comedy film “AN ACCIDENTAL ZOMBIE (NAMED TED),” a zombie and vampire try to navigate the ups-and-downs of falling in love while trying not to inadvertently kill one another.

Dominican-Japanese actress AKARI ENDO stars as Livia, the beautiful vampire battling even her own instincts not to suck the blood of her new zombie sweetheart, Ted, played by Cameron McKendry.

Before leaving the Dominican Republic for...

My name is Karan Choudhary and I grew up in the small town of Faridabad, India. Without much schooling I learned to speak English on the job in a retail clothing store in New Delhi. After moving to Mumbai and studying some theatre there, I set my sights on New York City. I moved there in 2013 to study further and to learn specific techniques about acting and filmmaking. I was accepted to study at The Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater.

This is where some of our greatest actors including Robert Duvall, Gregory Peck, Diane Keaton and Tom Cruise, also went to learn the techniques of the great...

New Yorkers love a good pizza. It’s a classic taste of the city -- and so are the owners of the local pizzeria shops. But, what happens when you get a well-intentioned younger generation moving into the neighborhood and looking for a change?

This culture clash is the subject of the indie short film “The Kids Menu,” pitting a young mother (Nyle Lynn) on a mission to get a kids-friendly menu against a steadfast, traditional pizzeria owner ("Soprano's" favorite Vincent Pastore).

Directed by Paul Borghese and penned by Richard Vetere, the film has become a stand-out on the festival circuit,...
