Lately I've been in a decade kinda mood. I've made articles for my favorite 90s and 00s TV series/movies and am in the process of doing a 90s movie one. Since there is no decent club for the 10s yet and it seems a bit presumptuous to make one now, I decided to post this article here. Of course I already made a poll that nobody answered, so logically making an article that nobody will read is the next step. Enjoy!

This was such a great movie. So great in fact, that I didn't even need a stellar cast to get me to go see it. The premise alone was intriguing. I know this is a remake, but I really have no desire to see the original. This movie was everything I needed and then some. It had a surprising twist that I didn't see coming either.

I love the White House. I love action. I love action movies IN the White House. I also love Gerard Butler and siege movies. And just America. Anyway this was a great fun movie. In television's greatest show 24, there was a series of episodes in which the White House was invaded by terrorists and while that's better, this still is a worthy "sequel".

"Why don't you and I play a game of fuck off. You go first."

I had no hopes for this movie. I thought it sounded interesting and needed something to watch on Netflix. Imagine my shock when I actually found myself enjoying it. A lot. I love the idea of cities within one building and fighting your way out of it. This movie was funny, had great action, and decent acting. Would recommend.

"Only one thing fighting for order in the chaos: the men and women of the Hall of Justice. Juries. Executioners. Judges."

What a great supernatural horror movie! Good cast, funny, and creepy in all the right places with excellent music to accentuate the ~creepiness~. There's no message here, however you think there might be one. Paul Bettany is stellar as Michael and while the ending kinda pissed me off a little, it's still very fun. Much wow.

"The last time God lost faith in Man, He sent a flood. This time, He sent what you see outside."
"Are you saying this is the apocalypse?"
"I'm saying this is an extermination."

I love disaster movies. Even the so bad pure CGI made for TV disaster movies. I guess I just like to watch the world burn (literally!). This is the best of them I have seen and of course its done by the phenomenally talented South Koreans. This is a rather long movie, and does take a little while to get going but once it does you will be so glad you stuck it out! Thank you Netflix!

"Heather, you've got to watch You're Next!" "Have you seen You're Next yet?" "Watch You're Next!" I can't tell you how many times I heard this from people online who know me and my love for horror. Usually when I hear constant praise, I wind up not loving the movie. Probably because I'm a contrarian but whatever. That was not the case for this one. It was slightly slow to get going but I loved every minute of it. Erin turned out to be a real BAMF and now she's gone down in horror history as an epic final girl. Very difficult to accomplish with only ONE movie.

"Why?"
"Why the fuck not?"

I will always have a special place in my heart for the military. They do and see things most of us will never have to in our lives, nor are willing to. I knew the story of Marcus, and already wanted to see this movie before I knew Ben Foster was a part of it. That just sealed the deal. This has the perfect amount of action, story, and depth. I connected with these guys immediately and my heart broke for them throughout the story. Not for the faint of heart.

I don't care what anyone says, Kevin James is funny. And Adam Sandler used to be funny, but he's great in this. I enjoyed this movie way more than I actually should have. Finally something with a unique premise that hasn't been done or remade 500 times before. I was surprised by how much action there was in this movie. Graphics were great and overall a wonderful movie. Highly recommend!

"We got this, if we don't, the world ends."

I always like Charlie Brown but this movie wasn't on my radar, I didn't care about it one way or another. But I had a trial period of HBO and this was on so I decided to give it a shot not expecting or hoping for anything, just something to kill the time. I am really glad I did! This movie was just downright adorable!

"Whenever I feel really alone, I just sit and stare into the night sky. I've always thought that one of those stars was *my* star, and at moments like this, I know that *my* star will always be there for me. Like a comfortable voice saying, "Don't give up, kid."

I loved 300, but I loved this movie even more. A very worthy sequel to an already awesome movie. The graphics are still amazing, the characters are still fascinating, and the battles are still enchanting. Eva Green is great in everything she does, but as Artemisia she really shines. If you liked 300, you'll likely like this sequel more. Make this a trilogy please!

"Better we show them, we chose to die on our feet, rather than live on our knees!"

From the moment this movie was first pitched, I knew I had to see it. I knew I would love it. However, I went into it expecting it to be more of a Friday the 13th spoof than it was. Don't get me wrong, it WAS a spoof of F13 and Jason but it was so much more than that. This is a touching drama movie about a girl missing her mom disguised as a horredy. I'm willing to admit I cried so hard at the end I couldn't see anymore. Damn horror has no business making me cry like that.

"Ever since I was a little boy, I've dreamed of being the final girl."

Scream is the movie that started it all for me. All my horror love started at a VERY young single digit age thanks to that movie. I liked 2 and loved 3, but not enough to even compare it to the original. Then 4 came out, and I struggled with myself over which I liked more. It was that good. All the original main cast is back with some newbies thrown in. The deaths were out of this world scary-good gory. It was everything I hoped it would be and then some.

"You forgot the first rule of remakes. Don't fuck with the original!"

I'm not a fan of the original Evil Dead movies. To be fair, I haven't watched any for at least 10 years so maybe I like them more now but I didn't then. So I was hesitant to watch this movie, but eager to see if it would be different from the original. I think I was so pleasantly surprised by this movie, I sat stunned for a good few minutes while the credits were rolling. I love a horror that doesn't hold back on the gore, and the last 5 minutes alone has more of that that most all horrors combined.

"You will die! Like the others before you, one by one, we will take you!"

Keanu is a legend. A classic. He doesn't star in franchises, he creates them! Bill & Ted? Legendary. The Matrix? Ultra legendary! And now John Wick...baba yaga. The ultimate Keanu franchise. Damn this movie was good! Again, I didn't expect much because of all the hype but the hype didn't do this movie enough justice IMO.

"People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back."

*SCREAMS* I can't say how much I love this movie. I had my standards incredibly high because the first was so epic. I just knew this one would be too, and for once in my life I was not disappointed by my standards. I saw this not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES (a record) in the theater. Unless it's part of a horror franchise, you pretty much have to drag me to the theater once let alone three times. Best, best, BEST movie to come out of this decade hands down. You can tell the amount of dedication Keanu put into his fights, because that translates so well on screen. I NEED NUMBER THREE!
