Mockingjay Question

Did anybody else notice that the first 2 books cover birds have rings around them like there stuck in there but the mockingjay doesnt, so its the mockingjay broke free, so they have freedom?

in hunger games its noo freedom at all, sold ring. catching fire theres alot of rebellion so its like burning away mokcingjay free to spread its wings. anyone else notice that?

yeah. i think it means that in the first two books, the mockingjay was just a symbol of rebellion. But in the third book, it isn't just a pin anymore, it's an actual mockingjay aka Katniss
