Milica Todorović (October 13, 1990) is a Serbian pop-folk singer born in Kruševac. She became known after competing in the 2005 season of the televised singing competition Zvezde GrandaShe was only 14 years old when she won the show and she is still the youngest singer to accomplish this. Her first studio album entilted Pamtim ja was released in 2009 by Grand Production.

Early life

Milica Todorović was born October 13 1990 in Kruševac, Serbia, to Jasmina and Milan Todorović. She has 3 siblings: Vladan and Jovana, who are older than her, and an younger sister Anđela. Milica developed interesting in music in a very young age. She learned to play the piano at age thirteen. She also trained handball and judo in her childhood, but singing had a major influence in her life.

Career

2005: Career beginnings

Milica participated in the second season of the Serbian competition Zvezde Granda. The season started in 2005, when she was only 14 and she became the younger competitor to ever participate (and win) the show. Milica performed the songs Prevari me and Gore od ljubavi at the final and won by over 26,000 votes. Aca Ranđelović got the second place, while Jadranka Barjaktarović earned the third place. In the end of 2005, Grand Production released a CD containing songs recorded by all the show’s finalists. Milica had three singles in this album: Uporedi meReci ja and duet Jači pol, featuring her former Zvezde Granda fellow Jadranka Barjaktarović.

2006-2008: New songs and performance at Grand Festival

In 2006, Milica recorded the song Zašto cura sedi sama, with which she went to the finals of Grand Festival. In 2007, she released a duet with DJ Dragi entitled Daj mi. In 2008, she participated one more time in Grand Festival with the song SMS. She only reached the semifinals this time.

2009: First studio album

Milica released her first album 4 years after winning Zvezde Granda. The reason it took such long time was because the label Grand Production had to wait for her becoming an adult to release it. Thus, her first studio album came out when she was only 18 years old and it was named after the track Pamtim ja. In addition to this song, the album contained the singles Gade and Haljinica, besides some of her previous work as Uporedi meReci jaSMS and Zašto cura sedi sama.

2010-2012: New singles release

Milica continued to release singles: in 2010 she published Sa bilo kim and Samo me zagrli. The next year, she increased her popularity by releasing Sve je uzalud, which music video had millions of views after being published on Youtube. She also released two other succesful songs in 2012: Zbog tebe and Samo me pogledaj.

2013-2017: Major hits and other works

On June 14, 2013 Milica published the music video of Nema nazad on Youtube. The video reached over 2 millions views that year and became one of her most famous songs. On that same year, Milica recorded the song Tri čaše, whose music video was published on December 11, 2013. The video is third-most viewed video of all time in the Balkans with over 70 millions as of 2017. Tri čaše became her biggest solo hit and achieved high popularity in Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and other countries. Her next single was a duet with the Serbian-Austrian singer MC Yankoo. The song was named Moje zlato and had its music video published on Youtube on August 28, 2014. It is still the most-viewed of all time in the region, with over 120 millions of views. In the end of the year, she performed Konačna odluka in Grand Festival, reaching the second place this time. She was often considered one of the most successful participants of Zvezde Granda.

In 2015 she starred as a judge in Neki novi klinci, a televised contest show hosted by Tv Prva. The show also featured Rada Manojlović, Bane Mojićević and Milan Topalović Topalko as well as guest judges in every episode. Milica also began an acting career in the play “Vreme Cigana”, where she portrayed Azra and co-starred with Stevan Anđelković.

In the beginning of 2016 she was replaced by Ivana Selakov for the second season of Neki novi klinci. Milica then released in November the song Cure Privode, breaking an almost two-yeared hiatus. The song had less popularity than her previous work, but was yet considered hit, with over 20 millions views on Youtube.

In 2017, Milica was featured in two other songs: Limunada, a song by Emina Jahović, and Ljubi me budalo, another duet with MC Yankoo. Both were released in August and became instant hits. Limunada was the biggest hit of the year and managed to stay in the top trending Youtube list for 9 weeks in a row. She made a cameo in the 2017 American movie An Ordinary Man, which stars Ben Kingsley and portrays Milica as a singer performing the song Jutro mi je ruža procvetala.
