As stated in his interviews, Michael has cited Sam Cooke, Johnny Mathis, Ray Charles and Nat "King" Cole as some his early vocal influences while growing up. In my opinion, he chose some the best singers as his musical role models. Michael was in a league of his own when it came to singing; as a matter of fact, he could do a good impression of Johnny Mathis.

Speaking for myself, I was surprised to learn that Michael was a fan of Sam Cooke and Johnny Mathis; in addition, to reading a biography pertaining to him a few months ago. It would've been nice to hear Michael do some of his vocal interpretations...

How can I be so freaking obsessed with Michael Jackson? I mean, he's only human.

I fell in love with him when I was just 10 years old, in 2009. I saw the funeral with my parents. I remember I was sitting on this green little chair, drawing or something. Then his funeral came on. Producer opens up about record-breaking collaboration with the late singer


Quincy Jones has talked about his time working with Michael Jackson, saying they came together by accident.

In an interview with Billboard to mark his 80th birthday and forthcoming induction to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, the celebrated producer, who worked with Jackson on his albums 'Off The Wall', 'Thriller' and 'Bad', says he met the fledgling solo artist while making 1978 'Wizard Of Oz' adaptation 'The Wiz'.
