Don't you think Michael would be so disappointed in us?

Yes...I admit! The internet is basically the impeccable free country. Everyone is entitled to post what they like. So, even if some MJ fans have a problem with some of the content here, shouldn't we all just restrict our negative comments? I'm 50% sure that all MJ fans have posted something that at least ONE person disagrees with. This is Fanpop: a website devoted to allowing ALL fans to post what they please (according to the site's rules and regulations.) Why are we fighting over who gets to post what? For example, "fantasy" questions are allowed if that's how a fan expresses himself/herself. If you don't like it, then take a deep breath in, breathe out slowly, and just don't read it. Instead, post something to express your appreciation for MJ and his music in a manner befitting of your personality. I'm waving my white flag of peace because I have simply had enough. Let's make MJ proud and stay united as different fans who embrace each other's differences. Any Michael fans agree with me?

The problem is when one of them starts getting angry, and it goes from a casual disagreement to an argument to a fight. That's when we'd be going against MJ's ideals. That's when it starts to become hurtful.

Well said, but if you search this site, you will notice that there has been a recent uproar of mild to severe fights between fans. That is the issue that I am addressing.

yes, but if you read my explaination carefully, you would see that the focus was on self-control, which is not actually idealistic. It is obtainable if you try to be patient and considerate. I'm not asking for everyone to be the epitome of self-control and reason, but I do expect a decent level of tolerance from every fan.
