I don't think he said that he never "spanked" Michael. I think he is saying that he never physically "abused" him. Whether someone think that spanking is a abuse then that is up for debate. Parents who reasonably discipline their children (without anger)probably don't believe they are "harming" their children. I don't know. Just food for thought. Also remember that Mike loves his father and without Joe there would be no J5.

If it weren't for Joe's vision none of us would be here. Don't get me wrong I deplore what he did and believe it had lifelonf horrible effects on Michael but back in the day that kind of thing went on all the time. Now too for that matter.
Ya know, i have a friend who does not like Michael but she hates Joseph much more than she hates Michael because of what he's done to him when he was a boy...but she still doesn't like Michael. (chuckles) Its kinda confusing for me. But must agree Joseph really wasn't being a good father to Michael. I be pretty mad at Joe for beating on him and the other boys whenever I watch The jacksons an American dream movie. Unlike Katherine, she was an angel to Michael. (well of course she was. She's his mother). When I watch the movie and see Joe being a jerk to all them it makes me wanna burst into tears for them and I go,"Joseph please stop! Please stop it! Just leave them alone!" that's what I call misery. I know misery cause it happens to me ALL THE TIME.

Yeah, I was screaming "Joe! Stop! Leave them alone!" all throughout that movie- it was really hard to watch :C
he did....when michael explained the proccesses that he did before he beat them i was shocked...u guys probaly know wat he did before they were beat and michael couldnt call him dad...thats a shame like seriously but God forgives everyone
