What do your parents think about your love for MJ?

They think it's not normal and I will get over it..they have no idea Michael is the one who actually gave a meaning to my life after they destroyed it..Thanks to Michael I am alive today and I will never stop admiring him. I love him forever !

My parents know that I love very much Michael and they're okay with it.I also think that my mom admire Michael because he was a kind person and an amazing singer.Just my dad says sometimes that I'm obsessed with Michael.But if I ask them to buy me a book or a poster with him,for exemple,they buy me.And my big sister also like Michael and his songs,especially You Are Not Alone.

My parents actually hate michael :/ my dad thi is he's a horrible person and even my mom gets a sour expression on her face everytime I mention him :(

I dont own a single poster or calendar
And the 1 shirt that I do own was a gift and my parents don't k ow about it. However, after a LOT of begging, I managed to convince my parents to let me buy a bag for my upcoming birthday. So I'm hoping they don't change their minds :P

Anyways, my point is that I know exactly how you feel :) I'm like the odd one in the family.
But no matter what my parents say, I'm bot going to let them weaken my love for Michael <3

My parents are pretty much ok with my love for MJ,when Michael music comes on they might tease me a bit but it is in good fun, even my mom watched some of his short films with me! Is that awesome or what!

Well....my parents HATE him. My dad thinks he's a freak cuz of his skin. I told him he had Vitiligo but he doesn't belive me. Then there's my mom who hates him because Michael is black....she's ALWAYS racist. Thank God im not...if I was I wouldn't like Michael. If only I could change them from being haterz to being fans...

My parents think im way too obssessed with MJ. They dont like him very much, but they buy me MJ stuff. They like tease me when one of his songs plays on the radio or when they hear something about him. I get annoyed sometimes, and they sometimes go too far with the whole thing. But I forgive them...sometimes. I dont care what they think, I will always love MJ:)

They don't understand me and I don't think they know how much I love him.. I don't think they imagine that MJ is my life, is part of me..
They know about my love for MJ.. but I don't think they know how much..
Maybe they are thinking that is an obsession.. but honestly I don't care about what they think. I don't wanna make any kind of effort to understand what is in their mind or what they think (about my feelings regards Michael) just as they don't wanna make any kind of effort to understand my feelings... they never did..
And I really can't understand them.. it's impossible to understand why someone can't see the love in MJ's eyes and all that he did for the world..

I knew what my mother thought about my love for Michael in general, but I asked her what she thinks about my love for him today anyway. As usual, she tried to be funny by saying one word, "unique". But then she told me that she thinks of my love for Michael inspiring, that it inspires others to love him also. And that it's clear I love Michael more for the human he is than the music artist. My mother says she thinks I'm Michael's best fan, which made me smile. She doesn't think I'm obsessed with him, she thinks I have a real love for him, which is true.

For my father, he could really care less. He knows I'ma good fan, so that's all that matters to him.

I'm a parent and so disapointed to read all your replies about this question :(

My parents...Well they actually don't care if I like him or not. They think that it's ok. The thing they love is when I talk good things about him or defend him. They think it's great to have you're own opinion. But sometimes when I'm like so obsessed my mum nodds her head and smiles so it means that she's ok with it. :D
My mum says that I'm dancing better cause I'm watching videos of him all day! So that something good!

my parents don't care that i love him because they like him too! i mean they're not obsessed with him but they liked him when they were young and have never said anything mean or disrespectful about him. They do buy me MJ stuff and they don't have a problem with it. :)

My mom doesn't show it but I know she thinks I'm obsessed and my father doesn't live with me and I don't think he knows so when I ask him for something he gets it for me. My Dad doesn't like MJ! He opposes the idea of me watching ANY videos about him or even reading books about MJ!!! He gives me lectures about "how it's unhealthy to be obsessed with one person." Well, I have a question: Do we, the fans, need to watch videos of MJ and read books about him to truly admire him and his music? Or can we still love him without possessions?

My parents know that I love Michael, however for whatever reason, my mom accuses me of being a so called "Fake Fan" when in fact, I've always liked his music way before 2009!

Now back to the main subject, my mom likes Michael's music in particular, since she grew up w/ him, however at times my stepdad makes it a big deal, although w/ him I don't really discuss it that much. He thinks Michael was a you know what..(I won't say it) b/c of the issue of the 1993 settlement, when in fact that's not the case.
So to avoid further problems, I don't talk about Michael to him.
With my mom, she doesn't mind it too much, although I will admit, she thinks my obsession w/ him is just a bit too much. She's trying to get me to do other things besides anything to do w/ Michael Jackson for a change once in a while. But for me, I don't really care.
But I will say, that she now realizes that I love him very much, even though she didn't beforehand & surprisingly, w/o my knowledge this happened Christmas of 2010,she got me 3 Michael Jackson books, & I honestly can't thank her enough for that.

My parents dont really care for my mj obession. My dad, and pretty much everybody in my family hates michael. My Dad believes he was a pedaphile, so does my uncle and grandfather. My grandmother thought he was weird. My mom likes him somewhat. One good thing is that she doesnt believe the child molstation charges. I have a whole bunch of mj things. I have 4 mj tshirts, 9 or 10 dvds, his bad album,black fedora,the glove, 1 magzine,3 books, and 2 posters. My parents dont mind me buying mj stuff as long as i buy it with my own money. I only wish that my family would appericate mj more......

My Mom is actually a big fan of Michael aswell so I guess she's happy that I appreciate him too. It's also nice to be able to talk about him to her aswell, a topic often discuessed between the two of us :D, and she knows how deeply his death affected me. My dad's not bothered really. He's not really a fan of anybody but I know for a fact he likes MJ's music b/c he gave me a cassette of BAD that was his when he was a teenager & he always sings along to human nature & stranger in moscow on the radio. My brother likes him too (even though he won't admit it & slags him off sometimes too but that's only b/c I take it to heart when someone says something bad about him, my brother likes to annoy me :/) b/c he has a ton of MJ's songs on his iPod.

So I guess my family is pretty MJ friendly. :)

It's double standard, it's all right for him to oggle over the recently deceased singer Whitney Houston, but it's not all right for me to like Michael Jackson. He even tries to look at my laptop to see if I have any photos of Michael on computer screen.

Ughhh my mom's like that too! It freaking sucks. My dad doesn't care though, he spoils me lol.
