OMG!!!!THIS IS SOOOO DISTURBING!!!!!!!! :((In My opinion)

I understand it. The artist is comparing him to Jesus.

I.N.R.I means "Jesus of Nazareth, King Of The Jews" which was on the cross when Jesus died.

So, they are comparing him to Jesus.

The "2000 years after", is saying that his music will come back 2000 years from now? (Not sure about that one) But it's still another comparison too Jesus.

As for the stitches, I think it's too show that the media crucified him. (like Jesus on the cross), or by saying "2000 years later" and there is a patch where his heart would be, they could be saying in 2000 years MJ will come back, like in the Bible it says Jesus will come back someday (it doesn't say a date or how ever many years though.)

So, by comparing him to Jesus the artist is saying he is God-like.



That's just my idea though. :D

Edit: I also just thought of this, the more I look at it, the artist could also be saying "2,000 years after the Bible, this is what Jesus looks like" or "This is what Jesus REALLY looks like." So they could be saying MJ acted like Jesus? Or maybe they think he was an angel.

Just a thought. :D

I think .... er - no its disturbing!
I was trying to come up with some rationale behind the artists thinking, but can't. It does say "2000 yrs later" to allude to the fact that Michael's memory will live on? But the stitches implies mockery at all the cosmetic surgery he'd had done over the years? Everyone remembers the time MJ's nose purportedly 'fell off'? Stitched back on? I don't think so myself. But I do know, its not a painting I'd have on my wall.

It's ART - and sometimes the conception, execution & perception of Art totally bewilders everyone!

omg i saw that picture too when i was looking up michael jackson paintings on google and i though it was quiet scary, i dont really understand it, like i dont get what "I.N.R.I" is, nor do i understand the part where it says 2000 years later so yeah...its interesting though.

At first glance I thought it was an insult. Like an interpretive portrait of MJ post surgeries - but in this painting, it was like an embellishment; as if he'd gotten surgeries on multiple parts of his body. Then after seeing the INRI and Rachel's interpretation, I agree that it's most likely comparing MJ to Jesus which I'm sorry is also an insult - not to MJ, but to Jesus. I love MJ but not he or anyone else pales in comparison. The man was not only publicly crucified, but physically as well. I personally think it's wrong to godify someone because we love them. That's just taking it too far.
Anyhow, aside from the Jesus-like details in the drawing, it's actually a very good portrait of MJ. It really looks like him :)

Uhm... a little TOO MUCH stiches dont you think? Yeah kinda disterbing. Also, it`s kinda "un christian" to do this, does someone know what im trying to say? LOL!!! Uhm, like people are starting to replace Michael as Jesus and they shouldnt because Jesus is our saviour, even though MJ is like a god, but he isnt. I dont know how to put my words in the right way, sorry :( :P
