So Metallica's album Master Of Puppets was ranked on the internet as the greatest metal album ever.
So my boyfriend asked me is M O P the greatest album in my opinion? My response:
Well this is such a hard question.! I don't know, because if I was to pick the greatest album ever, I'd obviously pick one of Metallica's albums, but I'm not sure which one. M O P is a great album, definitely on of their greatest but I don't know if it is the best. I obviously wouldn't pick St.Anger but i think people should appreciate it more, considering how much effort it cost the band to put that album together. I mean Jason quitting, no proper bass player, James in rehab... that must have been tough. And even though it took them a long time they still made it and it's still better than some of the shit made by all these so called "singers and musicians". I think that Load and ReLoad are way under appreciated. They are great albums, just in a different style. Same with Death Magnetic- this is actually a great example of how much of an amazing band Metallica is: after all these problem they were facing, after St. Anger they were still able to put another great album. And then you have Kill 'Em All which is their debut album, yet it is just legendary.! I mean not all debut albums are such a success. But you cant really compare the likes of Kill 'Em All and Master Of Puppets to Load or Death Magnetic because they are completely different styles, yet they still have their own little Metallica feel to them
and then you have Lulu... but technically Metallica are just guests on that album, they didn't write any of the songs on it (thank god ). So yeah...it'd be really hard for me to choose the best album because they all vary and they are all great in their own little ways... Oh! And of course you also have ...And Justice For All which some people consider not so good because it's their first album without Cliff and the quality is not so good (therefore Jason's bass is nearly impossible to hear) but if you think about it the songs on it are amazing. I mean One itself is a masterpiece and the album is filled with these great songs.
So as I said- I wouldn't be able to choose the best album. They are all just too good <3
