If, hypothetically, mermaids are real, why have humans not discovered proof of them yet?

Because we've only explored 5% of the ocean, which isn't much compared to the ENTIRE ocean. We've explored space more than we have the sea. I mean, we keep discovering new species of whales and those are HUGE ass animals that live in the ocean. It's not surprising that if mermaids exist that we haven't discovered them yet.

Because they live so far down below the sea and we have come from them.

Mermaids are smart. They know how to get around humans and not be seen. Plus 95% of the ocean is undiscovered

after seeing how others get treated in the name of , we come in peace,
look at old days when the great creatures of the deep came up to say hello, KILL IT KILL IT, is what they heard, and felt. hypothetically ,look how many times it comes in peace, some r lost to the point of extinction. if u r worthy u will see, yet u will have to keep the secret. remember how many species we would have, if only we humans were so afraid of being attacked first, or of things we don't understand. so do u have another question now, or does thou get the picture of why! *.

Well, we really haven't delved that far into the ocean and are discovering new species of fish and whales all the time. Perhaps when mermaids see our vessels approaching, they go into hiding out of fear.

Because they are very far below in the ocean and very frightened of humans. I believe they do come above sea and go back down quickly. Too much happening that frightens them so they stay far below sea.
