I think Cady wasn't a mean girl, she's so nice but only misunderstood.

Well Regina is really out-spoken and dosn't realize she's that mean lol. Cady was mean for a while to get revenge. But in the end Regina, Cady and Karen all turned nice. Gretchen was the one who went back to the whole 'click' thing and served a new 'queen bee'.

They were all mean in their own right...

Regina: She really didnt take crap from anyone. She told the ugly truth you can say. She cheated, said mean things about her so called "friends" and was really self involved.

Gretchen: Told everyone's secrets without really caring if everyone knew or not. She would also twist everyone's words and would say that they said something when it wasnt that bad.

Karen: She was a two-face, she didnt care about Gretchen and Regina... calling Gretchen "really annoying".

Cady: She was an innocent soul, until she was sucked in to be evil. She was a really bad friend to Janis, Damian and Regina ... who I would say treated her fairly throughout the film.

she is a bitchy slut. karen and gretchen are too dumb tobe counted as mean and Cady was actually really nice before she met the plastics.

She was by far the most manipulative and spiteful one, but went through some interesting hardships throughout the movie that gave her a taste of her own medicine. I like the way things turn out for her at the end though, with her finally gaining an outlet for her "meanness".

Cady certainly has her moments, which is the whole point in her character development (she basically becomes the enemy and then learns to be a better person) but I don't think her mean moments are quite as severe as Regina's. They're still pretty shocking though, considering she starts off as a nice and innocent person!

Gretchen and Karen... I don't really consider particularly mean. Gretchen just acts the way she does because she lacks independence and just copies what her friends do, and while Karen speaks without thinking... I get the impression she does most things without thinking! Neither of them are nice either, but they are both just followers.

I also think that Janis has her "mean girl" moments. After all, she's the one that sends Cady in to sabotage the Plastics in the first place. Not to say that the Plastics were ever nice, but she's still fighting fire with fire and stooping to their petty level. But she has a kind side too.
