Today, I decided to came up with this article by listing all of the dubs that were in my language (Greek). Maya the Bee is one of the animated series that have been redubbed and broadcasted in different channels and from what I know, there are 5 different dubs of this series. Here is the list of the Greek dubs that I have heard or seen:
1. Original Greek dub
Year or Decade: 1979-1982 (late 70s-early 80s)
Channel: ERT
This dub is sadly lost, but a few small clips were partially found and have been uploaded on Facebook and YouTube.
2. Second Greek dub
Year or Decade: 1988 (80s)
This is actually a Greek dub of the 1977 movie rather than of the 1975 series, but it still counts as a separate dub since some countries have aired the movie by not archiving the audio of the TV Series, but instead of redubbing it with different voice actors. This dub was released on VHS by Olympic Video and it can be found on YouTube and Archive.org by seaching "Maya the Bee Greek" or "Μάγια η Μέλισσα" as the series was called in there.
3. Third Greek dub
Year or Decade: 90s
Channel: Star Channel
Just like the first original dub by ERT, this dub is also lost, but the intro/opening can be found on YouTube and an audio of an episode without any actual footage (which is the cicada episode) was also partially found and have been uploaded on YouTube.
4. Fourth Greek dub
Year or Decade: 90s
Channel: RIK
This is a dub that was actually aired in Cyprus, not in Greece, which was on a Cypriot Greek channel called "RIK" in the 90s and I have learned about it from a post on Facebook that was posted by Maya's voice actress who was trying to find some clips from that dub that she was involved in, but she didn't find anything and asked other people if they have found it, but unfortunately, no one have actually found it, so the dub is actually lost as I also tried to search for it, but I didn't find it sadly, so yes, most Greek dubs are sadly lost.
5. Fifth Greek dub
Year or Decade: 2001-2006 (2000s)
Channel: Alter Channel
This is the dub that is the most common one and can be found on VHS and DVDs that were released by Modern Times. Some of the episodes of this dub can be found on YouTube and Archive.org.
And that's all of the dubs that I know and if you liked it so much, you may send a comment below to the article to tell me your opinion on my Greek dub research.
