Heartbroken Full House twins Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen face the nightmare of being split up by a custody battle following their father's remarriage. "If they are separated it could leave emotional scars that would last a lifetime," a family friend told STAR. "But the judge may have to be Solomon." Insiders say the 9-year-olds, who jointly played Michelle Tanner on the hit sitcom, are devastated since dad David Olsen married his former secretary Mckenzie Taylor, 36 -and have taken opposite sides in the latest battle between their mother and father. They've even moved into separate bedrooms for the first time in their lives. A custody war could separate them permanently - With Mary Kate going to her dad and ashley staying with mom Jarnie. "Their father and mother are talking about sharing them - one to dad, one to mom," says the friend. "That's horrible for the children. Mary Kate was always a daddy's girl and ashley, the shyer one, was a mama's girl. But the kids are a mess now. The bond between them that was so strong is being threatened." The Split between the previously inseparable twins came to head when their father remarried - soon after the split became final between him and his ex-wife Jarnie. "On Dave's wedding day just Mary Kate showed up to be the maid of honor. Ashley, who was also set to attend the wedding, stayed home with her mom. Jarnie had been crying, and she couldn't bear to leave her." The wedding between Olsen, 43, and Taylor took place on March 10. They had become romantically involved while she was working at his mortage company. After the nuptials, Mary Kate came home to find that her twin was upset with her for going to the ceremony despite their mother's anguish. "Mary Kate felt-she had to be there," says the insider. "But Ashley is different. "They've been going to therapy to try to resolve their feelings." A custody battle for the kids also involves big money - the twins are worth an estimated $10,- million after their years as a sitcom favorite as well as a growing movie and production company empire. In addition to their hit TV show, which ran for eight years on ABC, they've done a hit video, a children's show and TV movies. But insiders say their phenomenal succes at such an early age - coupled now with the breakup of their parents - has left the Olsens with serious growing pains. "When the series went off the air, they lost their TV family - people like John Stamos and on-screen sisters Candace Cameron and Jodie Sweetin, with whom they were very close. "Then they saw their real mom and dad start to fight a lot - and then dad was gone. They're unhappy. It's so sad to see them.
