MARTINA McBRIDE SHINES FOR PACKED HOUSE AT RARE CLUB APPEARANCE
More than 1,000 Fans Max Joe’s Bar in Chicago for Martina’s WUSN-Hosted Concert
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
May 11, 2009 (Nashville, TN) – Superstar Martina McBride delivered a rare musical treat this past Wednesday evening when she lit up the Windy City performing for a packed house at Joe’s Bar in Chicago. The ACM Nightclub of the Year winner was an amazing venue in which to enjoy the power and intimacy of McBride’s vocals as she rolled through hit after hit, including her recent Top 10 smash, “Ride,” and her gorgeous new single, “I Just Call You Mine,” both from her chart-topping album, Shine.
Hosted by Chicago country radio powerhouse WUSN/US99.5, the concert maxed its 1,000-fan capacity to overflowing, with Ed Warm, owner of Joe’s, praising, “Martina gave Chicago and Joe’s Bar a once-in-a-lifetime concert event. Her fans lined up beginning at 9 AM and packed Joe’s to the point that the fire marshal wanted to clear out some of the crowd! He was gracious enough to let everyone stay and see Martina up-close-and-personal in a setting that Martina hasn’t played in a long time and may never again! No gimmicks, no theatrics, just powerful vocals and a commanding stage presence. Joe’s has hosted a lot of new female singers over the last few years, but none of them hold a candle to Martina’s raw talent.”
McBride’s incredible talents have earned her more than 18 million in album sales, garnered 23 Top 10 singles, six of which ranked number one, and awarded her a mantle of honors, including a record-tying four CMA Female Vocalist of the Year trophies. The Kansas native’s fiery, passionate vocals have created such signature hits as “Independence Day,” “Wild Angels,” “A Broken Wing,” “Blessed” and “This One’s for the Girls.” These songs along with hits such as “Concrete Angel,” “Love’s the Only House,” “God’s Will” and “Anyway” have become not only memorable musical statements but resounding social commentaries as well.

I can't sleep for dreaming about you
When you're gone there's nothing I can do
But lie awake alone and dream the whole night through
I can't sleep for dreaming about you
I close my weary eyes
And see your face
I hold my pillow tight
And dream of your embrace
I know I could use the rest
But my lonely heart cries out for your caress
I can't sleep for dreaming about you
When you're gone there's nothing I can do
But lie awake alone and dream the whole night through
I can't sleep for dreaming about you
They say absence makes a love grow stronger
But I don't believe my empty arms can hold out any longer
I can't sleep for dreaming about you
When you're gone there's nothing I can do
But lie awake alone and dream the whole night through
I can't sleep for dreaming about you
I can't sleep for dreaming about you
When you're gone there's nothing I can do
