There are so many reasons why he shouldn't go.

I want him to go. After EVERYTHING we did for him: protecting him from the media during his personal drama, defending him from the critics when he was out of shape, SAF helping him out....and this is how he repays us? By throwing a tantrum and saying you want to leave? honestly, SAF sounded so defeated during the press conference, that I'm just hostile towards him now.

Well then leave Rooney. I don't want a player at a club where he doesn't wanna be. Will we struggle after him? Of course we will, but we'll adjust and we'll go on. We survived being relegated at the hands of Denis Law & City, Cantona leaving, schmeichel leaving, Beckham leaving. We can survive Wayne leaving.

United is about more than big stars who are there simply for the times when everything is going amazing. Not matter how good you are, if you don't realise how lucky you are to play for United, then you don't deserve to play for us anyway.
United helped and supported Rooney so much through all his crap. How thick and arrogant can you be to not realise what a great thing he had going at United. There were fans who idol worshipped him - not anymore.
To be a United legend, you need to stick by the club. I thought Rooney had legend potential... not anymore.
His status will drop from hero to zero.
I hope he has a nice time sat on the bench, until [hopefully] we get rid of him in January.
It won't be easy when he leaves, but it's not the end of the world. United are somuch bigger than one player who got too big for his boots.
