Madonna Question

Do you think Madonna deserves more respect as an artist?

When some people talk about Madonna they make her seem like someone you have to respect even though her music is silly and just dance music. And a lot of people don't even understand what she has done to change music. People call Janet and Mariah the real Queens even though Madonna paved the way for them to do what they did.

Madonna fans know that her music is more than that. Rolling Stone called Like A Prayer the closest pop music has ever gotten to art and she kept pushing the limits with Erotica, Ray of Light, Music, etc. To me she is the greatest pop star of all time.

Does anyone else think Madonna is really underrated as an artist?

I do agree with you. Many people just don't seem to understand her contributions to the music industry. Plus, she is ever evolving with her music to stay fresh and with the times. I know a lot of people say that only her early music good, but I disagree. Granted most of her music of recent has been up beat dance music, but I think it tends to stand on it's own merit. Plus I think she got a lot flack for her acting choices when in my opinion she has more talent than some of the teeny boppers that are out there in movies now. I mean hello? Did you not see Evita, A League of Their Own, or The Next Best Thing?

I get what you are saying. Most people say Janet is the Queen of Pop or Britney or GaGa. But disagree I love them all but, they have looked up to her. She is the Queen of Music just like Michael Jackson. They need respect.
