I can’t believe it’s been a week already. It feels like years. I miss you so much. I’m sorry I didn’t write sooner, but it’s been a hectic week at the lab. How has your first week been? Made any friends already?

Danny and Lindsay brought Lucy to the lab yesterday. She was sad, because her uncle Mac wasn’t there. She also made you a drawing. I told her it would only be three months, and then you would be back with us. You would be here for her birthday. That made her smile again. I can’t believe she will be turning four. Seems only like last week when you got to hold her in the hospital. I’ll never forget the look on your face back then. The look of love. That little girl had you wrapped around her finger already.

Now that you’re not here, Sinclair is bugging me about the budget, fundraisers and other political crap. But he made the mistake thinking I was more like you. That I wouldn’t respond with any smart ass comments on his opinions or didn’t know how to play politics on him. So now I don’t think I will be seeing him any time soon.

I wish I could visit you. I hate not being able to touch you or talk to you in person. When I wake up every morning and look at my left, I miss seeing you. I can’t use you as my personal pillow anymore.
